Chairman's Corner

Welcome to the "new" Stampede format! Lizzie did a lot of work to streamline our newsletter, and I think it looks great!

With the Prescott City Council election in the books, the next phase is upon us. There are 13 Prescott City Charter amendments to be considered in the November election, along with a number of other city/town races.

We have two upcoming YavGOP events, the Literary book Signing Event and the annual gala Lincoln-Reagan dinner.

Join us for the Literary Event at the office on August 17 at 11am to meet authors Shane Krauser, Cristi Taijeron, and Andrew St. Wilson. We'll have new and used books for sale, snacks, and Maria Ginter will be on site with her fabulous bumper stickers, hats and other great stuff! This was planned as a "daylight event" to appeal to those who don't drive at night.

The Lincoln-Reagan dinner on Friday, September 22 is live for ticket sales (see flier below). This is our largest fundraising event of the year, generating income through ticket sales. We are also asking for silent auction donation items. Nick Adams, formerly with the Trump administration, is the keynote speaker, and we will have a band! There is a VIP Cocktail hour on Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Betsy Wine Bar - choose the VIP ticket option if you would like to attend. Gentlemen, the dress is Western semi-formal, so get out your bolo ties, best jeans, gator boots, and sports jackets! Ladies, carry on as usual with your sparkles!

As a reminder, donation income generated by events, or by direct donation, stays in Yavapai. We do not give money to the state or national party (nor do they give money to us). All funds go toward office operation, PC activities support efforts, and community outreach.

Each PC should be doorknocking, phone calling, hosting social events, and/or furthering the conservative agenda via Citizen Ninja actions. If your Precinct Captain has not organized efforts, please reach our to your Area Director or me. Now is the time for us to be establishing neighborly friendships to drive voter turnout. Our goal is 90% Republican turnout here in Yavapai and this one is for all the marbles. We ALL need to do our part.

New Homeowner Blitzes are ongoing, organized by Deana Corsa, and need doorknockers this Saturday. Please email her if you can help out in Jasper subdivision.

We also need PCs to step up and volunteer time at YavGOP Booths at HopeFest, Chino Valley Territorial Days, and the Yavapai Fair. Please contact [email protected] to volunteer to staff booths.

Thank you everyone for all you do to save our country, state and county! Many hours are spent (mostly unseen and unsung), but your efforts are crucial and appreciated.

HUSD hosted a Parent/Community Meeting

On 7/20, HUSD hosted a parent/community meeting to discuss the two reading intervention programs that have been being piloted for the last year. The two programs are Core 5 and SIPPS.

We were first given background information. Schools refer to Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3, and programs are designed for students in each these tiers. Tier 1 is the “universal student”, it represents 80%+ of the students. Tier 2 is the “needs additional support student”, it represents 6-15% of the students. Tier 3 is the “needs a lot of support”, it represents 1-5% of students.

Arizona House Legislative Update on

Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Accounts

Governor Hobbs continues to aim and fire at the nearly 60,000 new Arizona students who are using Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs) to access the education that best meets their needs. Specifically, Hobbs wants to take away their ESAs and disempower families from being able to find the best education opportunities for their children. Mind you this comes from a Governor who herself attended a private – not public – school.

PROP 400 HEADING TO THE BALLOT

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs on Tuesday signed SB1102 that appropriates $4,5000,000 to ADOT.

Prop. 400 is a half-cent sales tax originally approved by Maricopa County voters in 1985. If approved by voters, it would require Maricopa County to levy and the Arizona Department of Transportation to collect transportation tax for another 20 years starting on Jan. 1, 2026.

At a stalemate with Republicans in the Legislature in June, Hobbs vetoed a GOP version of the Proposition 400 bill, and her administration continued negotiations on a compromise plan enshrined in Senate Bill 1102 that won bipartisan support in the Legislature on Monday.

In exchange, however, Hobbs signed a GOP-pushed bill that prohibits municipalities from taxing residential rentals and will take effect January 2025.

Hobbs also signed House Bill 2670. That bill allows Arizona National Guard members and reservists to be buried in veterans' cemeteries and makes members of the nation's Space Force, which was created by then-President Donald Trump in 2019, eligible for the same state services as veterans of other branches of the military.

Exclusive—Lynne Patton: The Sound of Truth: Trump Did More to End Human Trafficking Than Any Modern President

LYNNE PATTON27 Jul 2023

On a mild February day in 2019, when the majority of Washington, DC, (and the world at-large) was focused on the impending Mueller Report being released at any moment, President Donald Trump was focused on something else: saving children.

Should Voting Day Be a Holiday? Some Election Deniers Say Yes

Saudi Company Draining Arizona’s Water Hires Business Partner of Hobbs’ Top Campaign Advisor as Lobbyist, Who Quits After Uproar

Saudi Arabian company Fondomonte has come under fire recently for using large amounts of water in Arizona for its alfalfa farms, obtained through a very inexpensive land lease. Despite the outraged responses, a lobbying firm connected to Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs signed a contract representing the company two months ago — which suddenly ended, likely due to the negative publicity. Hobbs has a mixed record on allowing Fontomonte to continue draining Arizona’s water.

DEFEND THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE

IN ARIZONA

The American Founders created the Electoral College to provide checks and balances that protect presidential elections, but now a campaign called National Popular Vote (NPV) is trying to destroy the constitutional system.

NPV uses state legislation to change how presidential electors are selected. States would ignore their own voters and give away their electoral votes based on the national popular vote. The NPV plan takes effect if passed in states that together control 270 or more electoral votes—a majority that would control who becomes president.

Pivotal Date Approaches as Far Left Battles to Enshrine Abortion Into Ohio Constitution

Mary Margaret Olohan @MaryMargOlohan / August 01, 2023

There’s a new frontier for pro-abortion activists post-Roe v. Wade: constitutional amendments that can circumvent state laws and flout even the most pro-life of governors. And with some of the weakest requirements in the country for passing constitutional amendments, Ohio has become the latest battleground.

ProtonMail Password Manager

Password managers greatly improve your online security by allowing you to create a different password for every individual account you have on the internet. This ensures that if any one password is ever compromised, all your other accounts will remain secure.

Additionally, password managers allow you to create complex (and thus secure) passwords that humans would find very hard to remember.

Proton strongly recommends using a password manager, and we believe that our own Proton Pass is the best password manager available.

Drs. Mike Yeadon and Paul Alexander:

fraud of the COVID pandemic

Dr. Mike Yeadon, former Pfizer Vice President, talks with Dr. Paul Elias Alexander on the fraud of the COVID pandemic and the deaths caused by the response. September 17, 2022

My content is available for free. I have lost extensive income due to my advocacy for early treatment and my stance against the COVID vaccines, especially for children. Your kindness and generosity is very much appreciated in my sharing of research and the fight against scientific censorship where several good and brilliant doctors and scientists are silenced and cancelled, including myself. It is absolutely imperative that people/populations are given accurate information about the benefits and harms of societal restrictions or medical interventions such as vaccines. Only then can people make informed decisions about what is best for them.

The Battle of the Keyboard Warrior
The birth of social media had the promise of an exciting new world where everyone could instantly communicate with each other from which we would all benefit from the respectful free flow of ideas. As usual, things didn't turn out as expected and the rise of the keyboard warrior was born. In the comfort zone of their device, usually hidden away from other people, the keyboard warrior is allowed to attack others with impunity without the restraint of face to face feedback and debate. In particular, the Narcissist is at the top of the keyboard warrior food chain. They are nourished by the psychological need to always have the final word and to weaponize any counter argument, hurling epithets at anyone who disagrees with them. However, the biggest crime of the keyboard warrior is that they are droll by their constant repetition of lies and half truths. They are boring and unexciting people once their persona is exposed.
We are all guilty of some level of keyboard warrioring but we should strive to recognize and reduce this social malady. Unfortunately, it is currently rampant amongst Republicans in Prescott. Every small innocent mistake is met with retribution to gain political advantage rather than having a discussion in private between the two parties to rectify the situation. The police have actually been called to intimidate fellow Republicans when a private discussion would have been sufficient. Blind Carbon Copy (:bcc) attacks have been launched to besmirch the reputation of fellow Republicans giving no opportunity to respond.
The current Executive Committee has been operating under duress from constant attacks and has been doing an admirable job. In particular, I was determined and elated to vote to repel the divisive and constant attacks against Luci Wheat less than 24 hours after undergoing triple bypass heart surgery. The Executive Committee makes mistakes as all humans do but let's give them support rather than keyboard warrioring them to death.
Thomas Reiner, Prescott
