Chairman's Corner
Happy mid-week to all PC Committeemen
As we prepare for our quarterly meeting on September 30, 2023, with your hard work and generous volunteering efforts we will take back our State and Country and make America First priorities lead the way.

YAVGOP Precinct Committeemen are out in our communities, spreading the word about Republican values and candidates. These efforts will go into high gear for the 2024 election cycle. Our messaging will engage Independents and show them why they need to vote Republican! We are working diligently to recruit school board candidates in all cities and towns.
We are educating our PCs, community, and voters about current topics, conservative movements and events. We look forward to hosting candidate forums and other events so that we can make informed choices about our elected officials.

HOW TO CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATOR
The RTS (Request to Speak) system is a necessary component to our legislative process. This is an excellent way to share your positions on a particular Bill and let your legislator know that you support his/her legislation. Please review this site and make sure you know how to use it properly. The legislators depend a lot on your opinions and this is where you share them.
The link to sign up for the RTS system can be found here: https://www.azleg.gov/alispdfs/Using_the_Request_to_Speak_Program.pdf

THE ARIZONA SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION IS THE ONE UNITED CREDIBLE VOICE REPRESENTING LAW
ENFORCEMENT AND PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE COUNTIES OF ARIZONA
September 15, 2023
Today, the Arizona Sheriff's Association joins an ever-expanding chorus of law-abiding
citizens and public officials to publicly rebuke the order of New Mexico Governor
Michelle Lujan Grisham that suspended the second amendment in Bernalillo County,
New Mexico. Governor Grisham, citing the need for greater public safety and
extraordinarily high crime rates, decided unilaterally that severing the right and ability of
law-abiding citizens to defend themselves for a period of 30 days would somehow
enhance public safety. This chilling executive order erroneously cites a public health
emergency but is nothing less than a full-blown violation of constitutional rights. Simply,
there is no public health exception to the U.S Constitution.

On September 30th at midnight, the fiscal year 2023 (FY2023) expires and FY2024 begins. Negotiations on Capitol Hill remain constant, and the schedule is in flux, but conservative lawmakers are working to identify the best path forward for the country that can both reduce spending AND secure the border.

I learned something new today, and not happy about it. After reading about the recent ruling of a federal judge that blocked Arizona from enforcing a 2022 state law requiring proof of citizenship to vote for U.S. president based on:
"State law requires people to provide proof of citizenship to vote. That is not in dispute for state or local races. But the National Voter Registration Act requires the Election Assistance Commission to prepare a form that can be used to vote in federal elections. That form mandates only that applicants sign a sworn statement avowing, under penalty of perjury, they are in fact citizens."
The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) was signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1993. You can choose to fill out the National Voter Registration Application Form to vote for President or US representatives, but this is the documentation required by the State of Arizona.
6. ID Number. Your completed voter registration form must contain the number of your Arizona driver license, or non‑operating identification license issued pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-3165, if the license is current and valid. If you do not have a current and valid Arizona driver license or non-operating identification license, you must include the last four digits of your social security number if one has been issued to you. If you do not have a current and valid driver license or non-operating identification license or a social security number, please write “NONE” on the form. A unique identifying number will be assigned by the Secretary of State.
I'd like to do a FOIA request on how many voters have registered via the NVRA form with no documentation and would appreciate any assistance from those who have experience in doing so.

Presidential Preference Election (PPE)
March 19, 2024
- Every 4 years recognized political parties may hold a PPE as a primary to select their preferred presidential candidate
- Political parties in power may choose to select their incumbent rather than do a primary
- Unlike primaries for other candidates, you must be registered to a recognized political party that holds a PPE in order to vote in Arizona
- Independents will NOT be able to vote in the PPE unless they change their voter registration to a recognized political party (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or No Labels)
| | | |
The best option to secure our elections is to have poll observers for early voting, election-day voting, and post-election central count observation. Sue Unverricht will be reaching out to PCs in 4th quarter to secure volunteers and training will be provided in early 2024 in preparation for the Presidential Preference Election (PPE) scheduled for March 19.
The County is also recruiting poll workers and that is another way that we can keep a watchful eye on the vote centers.
| |
Please consider volunteering as a poll observer or poll worker!
ELECTIONS
Did You Know?
Recently election integrity groups are advocating the use of apps to record and report unlawful or suspicious activities during an election. One app is called VotifyNow.
One of the challenges in using these apps – or simply using your phone’s camera – is that it’s against the law to take photographs or videos within the 75-foot limit of a vote center or drop box. Any person violating this statute is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor. ARS 16-515 (G) (H)

Many thanks to members of the EC and other chairmen for forwarding your concerns regarding proposed bylaw amendments.
The Bylaws and Resolutions are written by concerned PCs and do not seek the approval of the EC before they go to the Committee of The Whole. Thus, IF you and other CHAIRMEN are genuinely concerned and seek an understanding of anything to do with the Bylaws Committee it would be greatly appreciated if you contacted me rather than others.
Finger-pointing or gotcha attitudes do not make for a healthy sharing of ideas and do not contribute to the betterment of YavGop.
Respectfully, Rose Sperry Bylaws Chair [email protected] 928-300-2837

Conservative legal group reveals 'disturbing' impacts of gender transition drugs and treatments on children in Utah
By Heather Hunter September 21, 2023 01:33 AM
Conservative legal group America First Legal released "smoking gun" documents obtained from the University of Utah Health's Gender Management and Support Clinic about the "gender-affirming care" medications and "irreversible" treatments for transgender minors.
America First Legal filed public records requests in five states in June, and last week, the organization received consent forms involving treatments for minors in Utah.

On Sept. 30, 2023, Microsoft will Enable Mass
Surveillance and AI Training with User Data
Technology, Windows
- 130 products covered in massive policy shift including Windows
- Windows users to be tracked for “hate speech”, new policies allow Microsoft to use your personal data for sweeping new purposes, including to train their AI.
Big news–Microsoft is enacting substantial changes to its services agreement on September 30th, 2023 that privacy advocates argue will expand the company’s ability to monitor users and utilize their personal data to train artificial intelligence.
130 Microsoft Products covered by the new policy changes
The new policies will cover over 130 Microsoft products including Windows, Office, Teams, Skype, and Xbox. The agreement contains vague references to scanning user content and sharing data with third parties. Experts from Mozilla found the terms so unclear they could not ascertain the full implications for customer privacy.
