Chairman's Corner

Happy mid-week to all PC Committeemen

We celebrate this week two of the best Republican presidents in the history of our country, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.

With your hard work and generous contributions both time and money, we will take back our State and Country and make America First priorities lead the way.

YAVGOP Precinct Committeemen are out in our communities, spreading the word about Republican values and candidates. These efforts will go into high gear for the 2024 election cycle. Our messaging will engage Independents and show them why they need to vote Republican! We are working diligently to recruit school board candidates in all cities and towns. We are educating our PCs, community, and voters about current topics, conservative movements and events. We look forward to hosting candidate forums and other events so that we can make informed choices about our elected officials.

Presidents Lincoln and Reagan showed us how to stick to our values and do the work needed to save the Union and reinvigorate the conservative populace. President Trump started dismantling the Deep State, and leads all the current polls by a wide margin for the Republican nomination – but no matter who the eventual nominee is, we at YavGOP will help bring him or her to the finish line in November of 2024!

Be generous in your auction bids and help us in our efforts! Thank you very much for all that you do!

HOW TO CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATOR

The RTS (Request to Speak) system is a necessary component to our legislative process. This is an excellent way to share your positions on a particular Bill and let your legislator know that you support his/her legislation. Please review this site and make sure you know how to use it properly.  The legislators depend a lot on your opinions and this is where you share them.

Michelle Hamer

I learned something new today, and not happy about it. After reading about the recent ruling of a federal judge that blocked Arizona from enforcing a 2022 state law requiring proof of citizenship to vote for U.S. president based on:

"State law requires people to provide proof of citizenship to vote. That is not in dispute for state or local races. But the National Voter Registration Act requires the Election Assistance Commission to prepare a form that can be used to vote in federal elections. That form mandates only that applicants sign a sworn statement avowing, under penalty of perjury, they are in fact citizens."

The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) was signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1993. You can choose to fill out the National Voter Registration Application Form to vote for President or US representatives, but this is the documentation required by the State of Arizona.

6. ID Number. Your completed  voter registration form must contain the number of your Arizona driver license, or non‑operating identification license issued pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-3165, if the license is current and valid. If you do not have a current and valid Arizona driver license or non-operating identification license, you must include the last four digits of your social security number if one has been issued to you. If you do not have a current and valid driver license or non-operating identification license or a social security number, please write “NONE” on the form. A unique identifying number will be assigned by the Secretary of State.

I'd like to do a FOIA request on how many voters have registered via the NVRA form with no documentation and would appreciate any assistance from those who have experience in doing so.

Judge rules Arizona can't require citizenship proof to vote for president

Howard Fischer Sep 14, 2023 Updated 13 hrs ag

PHOENIX — A federal judge has blocked Arizona from enforcing a 2022 state law requiring proof of citizenship to vote for U.S. president.

In ruling Thursday, U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton said Arizonans who use a federal voter registration form are entitled to cast a ballot in presidential elections. She voided parts of the state law that say only those who provide “satisfactory evidence of citizenship’’ can vote in those elections.

The manual must be submitted to the Attorney General and Governor by October 1, 2023. The Attorney General and Governor shall approve the manual by December 31, 2023. Once approved, rules in the manual have the force of law.

Presidential Preference Election (PPE)

March 19, 2024

  • Every 4 years recognized political parties may hold a PPE as a primary to select their preferred presidential candidate
  • Political parties in power may choose to select their incumbent rather than do a primary
  • Unlike primaries for other candidates, you must be registered to a recognized political party that holds a PPE in order to vote in Arizona
  • Independents will NOT be able to vote in the PPE unless they change their voter registration to a recognized political party (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or No Labels)

The best option to secure our elections is to have poll observers for early voting, election-day voting, and post-election central count observation. Sue Unverricht will be reaching out to PCs in 4th quarter to secure volunteers and training will be provided in early 2024 in preparation for the Presidential Preference Election (PPE) scheduled for March 19.

The County is also recruiting poll workers and that is another way that we can keep a watchful eye on the vote centers.

Please consider volunteering as a poll observer or poll worker!

Did You Know?

Recently election integrity groups are advocating the use of apps to record and report unlawful or suspicious activities during an election. One app is called VotifyNow.

One of the challenges in using these apps – or simply using your phone’s camera – is that it’s against the law to take photographs or videos within the 75-foot limit of a vote center or drop box. Any person violating this statute is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor. ARS 16-515 (G) (H)

Please read for information on the American Confidence in Elections Act which was introduced in the US House in July. There has been much media coverage against this bill.

LD 1 Update from Reps. Nguyen & Bliss

Arizona House of Representatives Update from LD-1 Reps. Nguyen and Bliss

It’s a Wrap!

The 2023, 56th Legislature – First Regular Session is a wrap. Two records were broken, the longest session in Arizona history at 204 days and the most vetoes from a governor at 143. Same as the previous session, the Republican Majority held the same slim majority with 31 Republicans to 29 Democrats in the House and 16 Republicans to 14 Democrats in the Senate. The environment was tense with the “divided” government having a Republican majority in the House and Senate sparring with a Democrat in the Governor’s Office. As a result, there was a higher-than-normal number of executive orders from the Governor's office that didn’t need to go through the legislature. There were also a greater number of House Concurrent Resolutions (HCRs) and Senate Concurrent Resolutions (SCRs) from the legislative branch since these go to the ballot as ballot initiatives that don’t need a governor’s signature to become laws.

One veto override was tried on the cottage food industry bill (the Tamale Bill) but couldn’t get the necessary 2/3 votes to pass.

On day one, a divisive tone was set by the Governor in her State of the State Address. Subsequently, her proposed budget emphasized her partisan agenda. However, after much work, we were eventually able to pass a budget that prevented the governor from defunding the Border Strikeforce, protected parent choice using universal Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs), assured no money goes towards abortion, does not fund free college education for undocumented immigrants, nor is there funding for her proposed Governor’s Election Task Force. Instead, the Republican Majority was able to provide for the AZ Families Tax Rebate, a 10% one-time spending that goes back to AZ tax-paying families, and the Rainy-Day Fund is almost fully funded. We call this budget cycle a success!

FYI, mark your calendar as the 205 bills signed by the Governor will go into effect 90 days after sine die (adjournment) which is October 30th.

And now we are off and running to line up legislation for the next session starting January 8th. Our priorities will be to continue to defend our borders and Second Amendment rights, provide for election integrity, reduce taxes for working families, protect the unborn, and fight for rural Arizona when it comes to water, infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

We have a lot of work in front of us and are glad to know we have your support.

Yours in public service,

Representatives Selina Bliss and Quang Nguyen

Education Committee Chair Ann Pendarvis

Report: Hundreds of Thousands of Florida Ballots Were Flagged as “Blank” and Later Adjudicated (Updated)

Chris Quackenbush in Lee County uncovered an interesting dataset in the ES&S EL45A Election Summary Results. This find was “the spark” that helped expose election fraud and solve the largest legal problem facing Americans who were contesting election results.

Chris asked me to help her see if what she had identified in Lee County was going on elsewhere in Florida based on my effectiveness in obtaining data and election fraud evidence via public records requests.

Trump Won Michigan in 2020 General Election: Wayne County Never Lawfully Certified Election

ByPatrick Colbeck

The official narrative promoted by Michigan election officials has long been that Joe Biden defeated President Donald J. Trump in the 2020 General election in Michigan by 154,188 votes thereby awarding Michigan’s 16 electoral college votes to Joe Biden. On the basis of this narrative, on July 18, 2023, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel indicted each of the alternate 16 Republican electors with eight felony counts including forgery and conspiracy charges. These charges hinge upon the assertion that the 2020 election was lawfully certified. Was it?
