From the Marketing Committee

Don’t you just love OLLI! Don’t you wish more people knew about OLLI at DU and all its benefits like fun, community, intellectual stimulation, and the chance to make fascinating new friends? It always amazes me how many people I meet in the Denver area who have never heard of OLLI. Well, we can change that, but it will take each of us doing our part. Here are some ideas:

  • Talk about how much OLLI means to you wherever you go—word of mouth is our best marketing tool!
  • At doctor’s appointments, mention OLLI and bring bookmarks or brochures. Encourage the staff to share them with patients who might benefit. (My doctors often ask for more to distribute!)
  • Bring OLLI materials to gatherings and ask hosts if you can place them near the food or sign-in tables. (I did this at my 80th birthday party, and you never know who might pick one up for a friend.)
  • Ask if you can post an OLLI brochure at places like your place of worship or community center.
  • Share your love for OLLI on social media, highlighting the great classes you’ve taken. It may spark curiosity!
  • Like and share OLLI’s Facebook page to help spread the word. Engaging with our posts helps others learn more about us.
  • If you’re near a senior living community, consider submitting an article to their newsletter (the OLLI Marketing Committee can provide one).
  • Invite friends to attend a class with you as a guest—just be sure to get facilitator approval first.
  • Be creative and share your ideas with the OLLI Marketing Committee. Email the committee at OLLI@DU.EDU.

When you attend your Spring classes, ask your OLLI Staff for bookmarks, brochures and posters. Or call the office at 303-871-3181 and request to have them mailed to you.
