January 2017
We have a new look!
We're bringing in 2017 with a new look and new projects! We wrapped up our 10-year anniversary in December, but our celebration continues as we look forward to another decade of empowering thousands to implement positive and sustainable change in Missouri communities.

Celebrate Missouri Communities With Us!
Help us celebrate the people in our communities who are proud to call Missouri home and who work hard to preserve its history and revitalize their neighborhoods. Join us to share the power of Main Street with our legislators and help us educate them on the importance of downtown revitalization issues. The impact is greater when they hear from YOU.
New Cycle Opens for Affiliate Grant Program
The Affiliate Grant Program cycle for 2017 begins on February 16 with the first workshop in Washington, Missouri. This program is designed to help communities form a Main Street or downtown revitalization program using a 60/40 cost share. To be eligible for the grant, applicants must have attended the Affiliate Grant workshop.

3 Exciting Projects to Boost Missouri Communities
We have many exciting projects lined up for 2017. Through grants from the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office, we have been collaborating with PlaceEconomics to study the economic impact of historic preservation initiatives in Missouri. The results of this study will be unveiled during our annual conference July 26-27, 2017 in Columbia, MO.

We look forward to more amazing opportunities with a partnership with the United States Department of Agriculture through the Rural Business Development and Rural Community Development Initiative Grants. The RBDG funding allows us to offer specialized training and mentoring for revitalization efforts in the southeast region of Missouri.  Additionally, through the RCDI grant, we will implement a three-year project allowing us to provide in-depth training and assistance to 12 Missouri communities to help them strengthen and expand their Main Street organizations.

Watch For Us During Preservation Month
We are excited to partner with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to celebrate Preservation Month in Missouri!  Through a grant from SHPO, we are organizing a "Preservation Roadshow" to travel across Missouri and celebrate the diverse history and outstanding preservation work we are so lucky to find in our state. We are currently in the preliminary planning stages, so be sure to check our website for more information. Preservation Month was established in 1973 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is held nationally each May. Start planning a way now to celebrate Preservation Month in your community. We may bring the roadshow for a visit!
