Stretching Your Renovation Budget

While it is exciting to start planning a home renovation, it is very easy to go over on your budget. At Kitchen Tech we will help you every step of the way. With the help of our designers we will keep your style and budget on track. Here are some great tips our in house designers use.

Substitute Products

Marble is a timeless choice for kitchen counter tops. An easy budget friendly substitution is granite or quartz. These options are not only less expensive but also are more durable in a highly used area like a kitchen.
Switching out lighting can make a big difference. Changing out a few light fixtures can lead to a dramatic improvement.

The power of paint can totally change the feeling of a room. Adding floating shelves can be a budget friendly design choice, but by adding a pop of color on the wall behind them can make them a highlight of the room.
Saving Some Green this St. Patrick's Day
To celebrate US Cabinet Depot, any full kitchen order placed between March 15th thru May 15th will receive a free alpha stainless sink 18 gauge 9" deep or Alpha stainless steel farm sink.

Featured Recipe
Soda Bread

2 ½ Cups Flour
1 ½ Tsp Baking Soda
1 T Baking Powder
½ Tsp Salt
4 Tablespoons Sugar
½ Cup Butter, Softened
 ¾ C Raisins
¾ C Currants
2 Teaspoons Caraway Seeds
3 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
 ¾ Cup Milk
Chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Combine the vinegar and milk and set aside. Stir together the flour, powder, soda, salt and 3 tablespoons of the sugar. Cut softened butter into small pieces. Cut into flour mixture with a pastry knife until coarse mixture. Stir in the raisins, currants, and caraway seeds and nuts, if desired. Make a hole in the center of the flour mixture. Add the milk and vinegar mixture carefully mixing until moistened. Pour the dough out onto a floured counter, cut into two pieces. Knead each for about a minute and form into balls. Sprinkle each with the last of the sugar. Place on greased baking sheets or in cast iron skillets (makes for an extra crunchy bottom). Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 and bake until the top of the bread is golden brown, about 15 minutes. Enjoy Warm With Plenty Of Butter.
