Is the popular gray paint going out of style?


Solid gray paint has been a go to paint color choice for homeowners these last few years but according to designers this trend is ending. Sometimes an all gray or all white color pallet can leave a home feeling too cold or sterile. Warmer colors, like beige, and new neutrals like navy blue and sage green are coming back.

Bathroom Trends
NKBA 2021 design study has identified "smart, natural and functional" as the newest bathroom trend. The study shows that most homeowners are spending between $20,000 to $30,000 for a primary bathroom remodel.
The most popular bathroom redesign trends
60% of homeowners are removing the bathtub and to enlarge the shower area.
40% of homeowners are taking down walls to connect closets and dressing areas.
Installing some type of seating in a shower was most popular at 80%, zero clearance entry at 67%, and grab bars at 61% show how many homeowners are being mindful of living/aging in home.
Popular Styles
Contemporary 57%, Transitional 53%, and the newest Natural/Organic 47%.
Designers and homeowners are loving the look of "clean, calming, and minimalism with wood tone and spa like touches." The rising popularity of the natural/organic style is due to the mix of clean lines and calming, natural colors to create a serene, warm environment.
Technology
Smart temperature controls for floor and shower heating are the most popular choices for integrating technology into the bathroom. Water conservation technology, lights with motion sensors, and leak detectors with mobile alerts were a close second in popularity.
Low flow toilets and smart bidets are also rising in popularity.

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

12 ounce bag fresh cranberries
1 cup sugar
Zest from one orange
2 tablespoons water

Add the cranberries, water and sugar to a small pot on medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, add the orange zest to the mixture. Keep the mixture on medium heat for another 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once the cranberries start to burst, lower the heat and add any more sugar or salt to taste.
