Green Cleaning

We all have been spending more time at home lately. With all this extra time you might have started to spring clean early this year.
Here are some great ways to clean without using heavy, harsh chemicals.

Cleaning Floor Grout

Cleaning floor grout might seem overwhelming, but it is a simple 15 minute task that makes your floor sparkle.
Make a paste of 2 parts baking soda to one part hydrogen peroxide. Use a cleaning toothbrush to scrub this mixture into the grout lines. Allow this to sit for about 15 minutes and wipe away with a wet microfiber cloth. Here is a side by side comparison of a bathroom cleaned with this grout cleaner.
Smelly Sinks
A food disposal is a great appliance to have in the kitchen. But sometimes it can start to smell. An easy and green way to clean this is with dish soap, baking soda, vinegar and boiling hot water. First empty your sink and place about a tablespoon of your favorite dish detergent down the drain. Add about a 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain and slowly add 1 cup of white vinegar to the drain. Allow to fizz and bubble for abut 45 seconds. Flush the drain with 3-4 cups very hot water.
Cleaning Wood Floors

Using a drop (about 1 tsp) of your favorite dish detergent, 1/2 cup white vinegar to 1 gallon hot water is good natural wood floor cleaner. To start, always mop on a freshly vacuumed or swept floor. Push your mop in a S motion to make sure all sections of the floor are being cleaned. Remember to always use a damp mop not a dripping wet one. Using a microfiber cloth after mopping is another great way to ensure you are left streak free and that there is not standing puddles of water left on your floor.
Spring Savings
To celebrate US Cabinet Depot, any full kitchen order placed between March 15th thru May 15th will receive a free alpha stainless sink 18 gauge 9" deep or Alpha stainless steel farm sink.
