Please join us. On Christmas Eve, all who are participating in the pageant should arrive at the church promptly at 3:30 p.m. We are looking forward to a great event! Thank you. - Emily Chastain & Liz McElhatton

Christmas Flowers: If you would like to make a contribution toward Christmas flowers - in memory of or in thanksgiving for a loved one, please do so no later than tomorrow, Thursday, December 20 so that we can include your contribution in the Christmas bulletins. To make a donation go to
our webpage by clicking here or email the information to Timothy at office@stmarksevanston.org and then mail or bring a check to the church.

Christmas Hospitality begins with worship but it also includes refreshments afterwards. We invite you to bring a plate of cookies (already plated) or other snack (also, already plated) to share. If you would be willing to help - by decorating the parlor before or by helping with clean up afterwards please let Rachel Easton or Pastor Debra know. Staying Connected
Holiday Office Hours: Between Christmas and New Year's Day, the office hours will be a bit "creative" -- so, please if you need anything, call Pastor Debra on her cell phone at 847-732-9564 before stopping by the church. The office will be closed on Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1 so staff can spend time with their families.

The Final Jubi-latte and Tea Deum of 2018 takes place this afternoon at Cupitol (812 Grove Street) from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Stop on by for a cup of coffee or tea and a conversation! Hope to see you there.

Men's Group will meet on December 29 at 7:30 a.m. at Walker Brothers on Green Bay Road in Wilmette. All the men of St. Mark's are invited to join for good food and conversation. Questions? Call Bruce Gaede, 847-274-0541.
Outreach & Social Justice
Midweek Lunch: Each week, volunteers from St. Mark's and St. Matthew's work together to prepare and serve meals for our neighbors who struggle with hunger and homelessness. On Tuesdays from 6-6:30 p.m. volunteers prepare sandwiches. On Wednesdays, volunteers gather in Cunningham Hall from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. to serve the meal and talk with our guests. If you would like to help, please contact John Lucadamo or Donna Richardson for more information.

The Mitten Tree: remains in the parlor through the Feast of the Epiphany - January 6. Please consider bringing new hats, mittens, gloves or scarves for our neighbors in need. Children's sizes will be donated to ESCCA and adult sizes will be shared with the Hospitality Center.

Other News and Information
The eLion will not be published next week.
Watch for your next issue on January 2, 2019
Stewardship: We are in the homestretch. . . . if you have fallen behind on your pledge payments or if you would like to make a "13th month gift," the vestry and stewardship team would be most grateful! We'd love to close out 2018 with a strong finish so that we can begin the Annual Campaign for 2019 with a clean slate!

Annual Reports: As we come to the close of 2018, it is time to reflect on all that has gone before us. As you reflect, please consider writing a report for the Annual Report either about a ministry area you lead or a short paragraph about a ministry you are involved in outside of St. Mark's (because the church is wherever God's people are!). Please send your reports - as a Word or Text file - to Timothy by Friday, January 11. Photos are encouraged and most welcome. If you'd like a copy of last year's report sent to you electronically, let Timothy know.

Alcohol: If you or someone you love may have a problem with alcohol and you would like to discuss it in confidence, please contact Pastor Debra. In addition, there is an AA meeting that takes place at St. Mark's every Wednesday morning at 6:45 a.m. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop driniking. There is also a meeting of Al-Anon each Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.
