The weather is definitely turning colder, but when those moments of going outside arise, be sure to capitalize on them. Outdoor play with babies, toddlers and preschoolers supports all four domains of development. For example:
Cognitive - they learn about the world around them by noticing the colors, temperatures, sounds
Social - encourages observations and play alongside or with peers and/or adults
Motor - practice basic gross motor movements and maneuvering different obstacles
Language - sounds and sensory stimulation babies receive outdoor heps them verbalize experiences in the future. For toddlers and preschoolers the outdoors provides them with rich conversations with their peers or adults they are with.
So bundle up your children and head outside!
