An academic bilingual community fostering global citizenship
Dear Park Spanish Immersion School Community,

We hope that you are having a great week! I was so proud of our fourth grade student leadership team for recommending and helping implement the "Minnesota Sandwich Project." All classes had the opportunity to make sandwiches for Twin Cities community members needing help. See below for more information.

I really enjoyed this year's Imagination and Inventors' Fair, sponsored by our PTO. We had nearly 150 students share new learnings. Their projects were thought provoking, creative, and fun. Amazing work by our students, and thanks to the judges, organizers, and all who supported our children! Click HERE for a few photos from this event.

Please come to next week's PTO meeting on Thursday the 24th from 6:30-8:00 to learn more about school and district updates. Child care will be provided. Topics will include:
  • Superintendent Osei will give an update on the work of the District Start/End Time Committee and will provide an opportunity for input
  • There will be a presentation on a proposed apartment complex immediately north of our new site, and there will be an opportunity for public input
  • We will have some updates on the new building
  • There will be updates on proposed changes to this year's carnival and silent auction, and you can learn about ways to help
As a reminder, we do not have classes next Monday, January 21st in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will not have school next Friday, January 25th, due to it being marking day for the first semester. Can you believe we are almost at the half-way point?!

Have a great week, and keep reading.

Your partner,
Corey Maslowski, Proud Principal

Photos from the Minnesota Sandwich Project!
The fourth grade student representatives wanted to plan an all school service project. They decided to make sandwiches for those in need. To make 1200 sandwiches they needed to raise about $900. They raised $1400! After purchasing the ingredients, each class came to the Kids’ Kitchen. Every student made 2 sandwiches complete with positive stickers. The rest of money was donated to the MN Sandwich Project to cover delivery costs. Thank you for all you did to support this proje ct.
