An academic bilingual community fostering global citizenship
Dear Park Spanish Immersion School Community:

It's been a fun week around school, and our children have really enjoyed being outside. Due to the changing weather, please ensure that your child has different layers that can be worn (which are labeled). We have a HUGE collection of "Lost and Found" items; please look through the items when you are in the building.

Our Kindergarten students had fun on their adventure to Gale Woods Farm . We have had some book clubs, and we are grateful to our volunteers. I hope that current fifth grade families are able to attend Middle School Rally Night tonight. I cannot wait to see our second and third grade students' vocal music performance next Thursday evening at 6:30 pm.

Thanks for being a member of our community. Have a great week, and keep reading!

Your partner, Corey Maslowski

Cartonera Project:
Empty (Family Size) Cereal Boxes Still Needed!
We are still collecting empty, FAMILY SIZE, cereal boxes for the upcoming Cartonera Project.

What is a cartonera? Translated quite literally, a cartonera is a cardboard book. Cartoneras got their start in Argentine in 2003 as a way of making reading and writing accessible to all. Click HERE for more information about the Cartonera Project.
Math & Science Connection - Intermediate Edition
Since math is orderly, children can solve the same problem using different strategies— and still come up with the right answer. Children will see that math and science are integrated – and are part of their daily lives.

Fall 2019 Amity HOST FAMILIES Needed!
Every year, PSI is lucky to welcome eight Amity Interns from Spanish-speaking countries who assist our teachers in the K-5 classrooms. During their time at PSI, Amities live with two different PSI host families - one for the fall semester and one for the spring.

Please consider hosting an Amity Intern next fall semester. This is a unique and wonderful chance to welcome an Amity into your family and a great way to give back to the PSI community!

Want more info? Please check out the FAQs or email us at psiamity@gmail.com .

Ready to sign up? Go to www.PSIparents.com , click Get Involved and select Amity Intern to find the Host Family application. Fill out your application today!

Staff Appreciation Week: May 6-10
There are so many special and important people who work at PSI every day! To show our appreciation, the PTO will treat teachers and staff to coffee and breakfast in the lounge all week from May 6-10.

The annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, and an ice cream bar will wrap up the week on Friday, May 10. To help make the week a success, we are asking for volunteers to bring food items throughout the week.

Please click here to sign up for an item (or two) today!
