An academic bilingual community fostering global citizenship
Dear Park Spanish Immersion School Families:
We hope that you are doing well. Last Friday, many of our fourth graders chose to attend the  "Young Authors' Conference"  at Bethel University. It sounds like they had a great experience, and they represented us well!!
As a reminder, when we return from spring break, our third, fourth, and fifth graders will take the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA's) in reading and math. We will also administer the science MCA to fifth graders. The MCA's measure students' progress towards Minnesota academic standards. These tests are one of many assessments that we use to determine student learning and progress.
As you know, we are preparing for many changes as we transition into next school year (new space, furniture, start-time committee recommendations, physical location of our facility, etc.) . In regard to change, I've heard it said that we like it best when it comes from the vending machine. While that may seem simplistic, each of us handles change differently. As a community we are working hard to create an amazing learning environment for our students on Cedar Lake Road. To help our current K-4 students, our school counselor, Anne Moore, will lead lessons on the move with the students. She will also work with our fifth graders on the transition to Middle School. Watch for more information on how best to support your child(ren) as we are having these conversations.
I hope to see many of you at our spring school parties today. As a reminder, we do not have classes tomorrow or next week. We look forward to welcoming our students again on Monday, April 8th.
Sincerely, Corey Maslowski
