An academic bilingual community fostering global citizenship
Dear Park Spanish Immersion School Community,

I hope this finds you well--and staying warm! I think our children have enjoyed having a little more snow around this week. One first grader shared that it wasn't great for building forts, though!

I'm looking forward to connecting with our community members as our PTO meeting tonight, January 24, from 6:30-8:00 in our media center. Child care will be provided. Topics will include:
  • Superintendent Osei will give an update on the work of the District Start/End Time Study Committee and will provide an opportunity for input
  • There will be a presentation on a proposed apartment complex immediately north of our new site, and there will be an opportunity for input
  • We will have some updates on the new building
  • There will be updates on proposed changes to this year's carnival and silent auction, and you can learn about ways to help
Today marks the last day of the first semester! Tomorrow, we do not have schools so that teachers can work on progress reports, which will be sent home in backpacks next Friday, February 1st.

If you have not had the opportunity, please sign up for  parent/teacher conferences . If for any reason you need assistance scheduling a conference, please contact the teacher(s) directly.

Enjoy family time, have a great week, and keep reading!

Sincerely,
 Corey Maslowski, Proud Principal

Math & Science Connection - Beginning Edition
Parents can help their child(ren) understand—and enjoy math & science. For instance, at school, your youngster is learning early algebra skills. With these ideas, he/she will enjoy playing with algebra after school, too. Working with patterns of objects will help your child see patterns in numbers—a basic principle of algebra.
