Grants were due December 21, 2018. The following communities applied.

Marseilles - Demolish 5 properties that were affected by the 2013 flood. 

Princeton - Demolish 3 out of 7 properties and get reimbursement for maintenance on 3 other neglected properties.

FEMA- Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) Grant Program 
Grants were due December 18, 2018. The following communities applied.

LaSalle County - To complete the LaSalle County 5-year update of the NHMP.

NCICG for Bureau County - To complete the Bureau County 5-year update of the NHMP.

City of Ottawa - Vertically realign Green Street to prevent the east side of Ottawa from being isolated during a flood event.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program 
Grants were due November 2, 2018. The following communities applied.

Public Infrastructure Grant Applications
Buda - Water Distribution Improvements  to construct watermain replacement and looping in various locations.

Lostant - New Water Tower  to construct a new elevated water storage tank.

Housing Rehabilitation Grant Applications

Coal City - Housing Rehabilitation Program  to rehabilitate 8 owner-occupied single family homes in the project target area bounded by east of Broadway and south of Division St. (including both sides of the street) stopping on the east at N Lincoln St., and the railroad tracks. The eastern border also includes homes on both sides of S Vermillion St. south to E Elm St. (including both sides of the street) on the southern border stopping on the west at S Broadway.

Marseilles - Housing Rehabilitation Program  to rehabilitate approximately 9 owner-occupied single family homes in the project target area bounded by Chicago St., Broadway St., East Bluff St., and the Eastern City Limits.

IDOT- Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS) Grant Program 
Grants were due November 16, 2018. The following community applied.

The Village of DePue is seeking funds to replace and enhance sections of the municipal sidewalk system for the improvement of student transportation to and from school.

FEMA- Assistance to Firefighters (AFG) Grant Program 
Grants were due October 26, 2018. The following Fire Department applied.

The Princeton Fire Department applied for the 2018 AFG grant program to replace 22 sets of their non-compliant turn out gear that is more than 10 years old and needs to be replaced. By far, the most dangerous part of a firefighter’s duties is still fighting fires. The department’s current turn out gear does not provide the necessary or required safety measures of the NFPA, which prevents the Princeton Fire Department from taking care of its own people

Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Grant (OSLAD) Program 
 Grants were due October 1, 2018. The following communities applied.

City of LaSalle Rotary Park Expansion Project: This project will expand Rotary Park by providing access via a paved ADA walking path, 0.8 miles long, back to the Little Vermilion River and Prairie Lake area at the back of the park. The project will also include a fishing pier on Prairie Lake, 6 covered picnic tables, an 18 hole disc golf course, a pollinator area, a shelter/pavilion, (7) benches, (11)garbage cans throughout the expansion and a restroom at the beginning of the path. The project site is approximately 236 acres. 

City of Oglesby Senica Square Development Project:  The city is seeking to develop a new City Park within the heart of downtown. Acquired in 2010, this 1/2 site was once a dilapidated commercial building that has since been razed and converted into public green space. The vision of the space is to offer universal access to a diverse community park capable of offering a a wide range of active and passive recreation opportunities including: music / acting performances, picnicking, splash feature, and ice skating.
