|
Additional $25 Million Invested into Main Street Bounceback Program- Grant Deadline Extended
|
The program has already helped more than 4,200 small businesses and nonprofits in all 72 counties in Wisconsin. This additional investment will enable 2,500 more small businesses and nonprofits to move or expand into vacant commercial spaces across the state. The governor further announced that the deadline to apply for a Main Street Bounceback Grant has now been extended to December 31, 2022. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until all the funds are disbursed.
Grant funds are available as part of the American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) and distributed by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) regional partners. Businesses must apply through the partner organization for the region in which they are located. The program is open to new or existing businesses opening a new location or expanding operations in a vacant commercial property where the lease commences, or sales contract closes, on or after January 1, 2021 and on or before December 31, 2022.

Community Cleanup Challenge
Saturday, May 21st starting at 8:00am
|
As the snow melted, have you noticed unsightly litter? Are you wanting to get your kids more involved and volunteering within the community? Be the change you want to see. Your DeForest Windsor Lions Club challenges you to join us in a community-wide trash pickup challenge.
We will have friendly Lions and Leo members at the following locations handing out trash bags and gloves:
*Western Green Park
*Sun Fish Pond
*Yahara Park
*Liberty Land Park
*Windsor Fireman's Park
Once collected, trash bags can be left at each of these locations to be collected by village employees.
** for safety, we are recommending that kids do not attempt roadside cleanup.
Adults, if there is an area other than a park or trail where you want to focus your efforts, please be safe and wear brightly colored clothes. And grab a friend, it's way more fun!

Area residents are encouraged to invite others, bring lawn chairs and attend. The ceremony will last 45-60 minutes.
Because this is the 75th Anniversary of the United States Air Force, there will be an Air Force component within the ceremony.
