PHMDC Order lifted - Are we back to normal yet?
With all Dane County public health orders set to expire June 2, Public Health Madison & Dane County has shared resources to help businesses finalize and implement their own policies for customers and staff going forward.

Some voluntary recommendations for businesses and workplaces include encouraging vaccination among staff, considering whether your business needs a masking policy, reviewing and implementing sector-specific guidance from the CDC, and retaining protocols for hygiene, employee illness and cleaning.

Grant Program Updates
Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced that the county is partnering with the Madison Community Foundation (MCF) to distribute $5 million in grants to Dane County-based non-profits who experienced economic losses over the past year.
MCF will coordinate the grant application and review process and award dollars based on a series of criteria. Organizations will need to demonstrate loss of income due to the pandemic to successfully compete for a grant award.
All Dane County nonprofits will be able to apply once a resolution allocating the funds to MCF is adopted by the Dane County Board. Information about how to apply will be available on MCF’s website once the fund is officially created.

Noelle Stary, entrepreneur, owner of two East Coast businesses, and author of Main Street Moxie, From Surviving to Thriving in the NEW American Marketplace, will speak to us about the new world of business from her side of the desk, as well as how consumers can lend to hand to show their favorite Main Street businesses they support them all the way.
Some highlights:
  • Build your online community with and highlight your favorite places to eat and shop.
  • Say thank you!  Tell your favorite local businesses how they have made a difference in your life.
  • Look for ways you can provide a new perspective at your current employer.
Noelle’s story (and book) tells readers how she used a lot of grit combined with her singularly unique brand of moxie to make it through the largest paradigm shift of our generation. Please register for this Zoom event.

Kindness Bank,
Julie Ann Gullickson

Imagine a new type of non-profit invested in increasing community health & well-being through acts of kindness. That is what co-founders Julie Ann Gullickson and William Gregory decided to establish in February 2020.
Julie has over 20 years in corporate healthcare leadership experience. She also has two other LLC’s Jaguar’s Holdings and Optimal Potential Thinking. William has expertise in engineering and investment banking. They wanted to do something more philanthropic while utilizing their people leadership skills for the Greater good, so they created Kindness Bank.

Wanting to facilitate and foster health, Kindness Bank, brings the best practices to meet the needs of customers and the service providers, bridging the gap between theory and practice. 2020 has certainly brought mental health, financial and job stressors to the forefront, and it is time to pivot and change the mindset to self-care, filter and focus on connections to create a community support system – a kindness conduit, where little things can make a big difference. Be in the Exchange, a resource directory where you can bring your superpower to make a difference! Invest in improving health and well-being through acts of kindness! The cornerstone of Kindness Bank is to treat each other with selfless compassion and good communication in a collaborative supportive environment.

You can contact Julie Ann Gullickson at kindnessbank2020@gmail.com, to learn more about Kindness Bank and the Exchange. www.kindnessbank.net
