DeForest Windsor Area Chamber
2021 Membership
The DeForest Windsor Area Chamber Board of Directors decided unanimously back in October that there would NOT be an increase in membership dues for 2021.
We had been discussing tiered membership levels based on sponsorships of Chamber events, marketing and business participation. However, with the cancellation of 2020 events and the unknown of 2021, it was decided not to change levels at this time.
There are some of our small businesses that truly do not have it in their budget to continue membership, so if you can and would like to give a little extra to help them, please contact Heike.

Membership invoices will be coming out this month, not due until January 31st.

The Chamber depends on membership to continue to provide information, promote and advocate for our members.
Thank You for your continued support!
Thank you to the participating Holiday Scavenger Hunt businesses!

Toy Drives to Help those in Need!
Drop off Deadline: December 9th!
Upcoming Events
In partnership with several area chambers and business membership organizations, we recently sent a survey to Greater Madison businesses asking for information regarding current business operations, challenges and potential opportunities in the months ahead. In response, we heard from more than 500 Greater Madison businesses representing a diverse, mostly small or locally owned, cross-section of industries, as well as a significant percentage of women- and minority-owned businesses.
On Tuesday, December 1st at 12 p.m., we will release the results during a special afternoon edition of Advocacy in the A.M., which will also feature a conversation with our survey partners about the data and what they are hearing from businesses. The results of the survey will be used to inform policymakers about current business challenges and the need for a predictable and effective path forward balancing the needs of health, the economy and public confidence.

Please Support Local Non-Profits Organizations!
As you think of ways to support local businesses, nonprofits and those in need, please consider making a donation to Mission Nutrition Deforest (MND). Making a donation in the name of a friend or family is the perfect gift for those that have everything. 𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲!

Since early summer 2020, MND has held Drive Thru pantries providing almost 𝟒𝟔,𝟎𝟎𝟎 pounds of food to those in need in the DeForest area serving between 𝟒𝟎-𝟕𝟎 families each week. All food and grocery items are given out free of charge after being donated from food banks, community partners and amazing individuals. We’ve been able to give families fresh produce, bread, and dairy items. We are in need of a chest freezer so we can accept donations of meat for our families. Our goal is to raise $𝟕𝟎𝟎 to purchase an energy efficient chest freezer in time for our January food pantries.
With support from the community, Mission Nutrition DeForest can grow in our service to those in need. As a not for profit volunteer organization, all donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated.

Please make your monetary donation in one of the following ways:

Ambassador Spotlight
Valerie Zintz, Kobussen Buses, LTD.
Arizona bought my partner, Parker and I together with many memories. Little did I know I would be moving to Wisconsin one day but it has been five years now and I have fallen in love with this state! Brodhead is home to Parker’s family carpet business and one of Kobussen Buses terminals. I started out as a driver and worked my way up to be the Motorcoach Sales Representative. Being a part of the sales team has been an experience, from traveling all around the state to attending local networking events. I absolutely love the flexibility of my job and the people I work with.
Kobussen Buses has been around for over 83 years now with 23 terminals across the state employing over 1100 people. It is still a family owned business ran by Dan and Joe Kobussen with their daughter Amanda next in line. They do their part to make sure each of us are taken care of which is why we have people stay with us for years and years! The family feel you get here at Kobussen is something I wouldn’t trade anything for.
Growing up my mother lived in Mesa, Arizona and my father in Wenatchee, Washington, both large areas where I never imagined being a part of a Chamber. Being in a smaller area opens up doors that you never knew existed. The DeForest Chamber has been a pleasure to work with, they have organized events, an easy layout for Chamber Members, and lots of opportunities to grow your business and network with the surrounds businesses. My favorite part is being able to make connections with the representatives from other businesses, it’s good to know people. You never know when you are going to need a name tag, banner, a cake, coffee, a bus, but because you went to a Chamber Networking Event, you know who to call!
If you are wondering where your place is with the Chamber, I invite you to just show up! Whether that is virtually or in person, show up and you will find it is easy to connect and make new friends.
