State of the Chamber & Communities
Wednesday, March 9th from 8:00am to 10:00am

Join us for the annual State of the Chamber and Our Communities breakfast on Wednesday, March 9th, at the Comfort Inn & Suites, DeForest from 8:00am to 10:00am. 

We will introduce our 2022 Chamber Board members, recap 2021 and highlight events and opportunities in 2022. 

In addition, the Village Presidents, Jane Cahill-Wolfgram and Bob Wipperfurth, will present 2021 highlights and a glimpse into plans for 2022 and how they will impact our communities and businesses. 

Superintendent, Eric Runez, will present updates on the DeForest Area School District referendum projects and highlights from the Annual Report. 

After the presentations we will be presenting our 2021 Chamber Awards for:
Chamber Member of the Year
Non-Profit of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
New Venture of the Year
Most Distinguished Business

The Impact of Russia’s Ukraine Invasion on the U.S. Economy
Tuesday, March 1st from 10:00-11:00 am!

As Russia declares war on Ukraine and continues to invade more areas of the country, many Wisconsin businesses may be left wondering what economic impacts this could have. From triggering further inflation to causing uncertainty in the energy markets, WMC has invited experts to break down how this could affect Americans and Wisconsinites here at home.

Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year!

Recognizing manufacturing excellence for more than 30 years!
The Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award (MOTY) program is an annual recognition of excellence in manufacturing. It celebrates the successes of manufacturers in the state: their innovations, philanthropy, technological advances, commitment to customer satisfaction and quality jobs.
 
Applications are now being accepted! The deadline for manufacturers to complete the application is March 4.

Companies are placed in four size categories based on company-wide employee count. Self-nominations are encouraged.
 
Nominees are celebrated and winners are revealed at a black-tie awards ceremony on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. Visit the MOTY website to learn more and review the required application information.

Join us for an informational luncheon on Tuesday, April 5th at the DACSC!
Ambassador Mike Leckrone will come to share with us information regarding the non-profit COPA ~ empowering local organizations to drive a love of the arts to the people who participate and observe by supporting programming for youth and adults.
We will also have new member, Advocate MD, owner Dr. Nicole Hemkes, MD, come and share information and answer questions about their medical services and opportunities for Chamber members!

DASD Alumni Hall of Fame
Nominations due April 15, 2022
The DeForest Area School District is accepting nominations of distinguished graduates for consideration to the DeForest Area School District’s 2022 Alumni Hall of Fame. In its eighth year, this program recognizes and honors former DeForest Area School District graduates for achieving a significant degree of success in their pursuits of higher education and/or in their professional careers.

Each year the Hall of Fame committee will induct up to five members to the Hall, final selections are made by May 30. 

Applications for this honor can be made by self-nomination.
A nomination form can be downloaded from the district’s website — www.deforestschools.org > Community > Alumni Hall of Fame (fillable PDF file). Completed nominations are due Friday, April 15, 2022.
