Summer Learning

Aprendizaje de verano
Even in the summer the learning continues. Fifty-three students participated in a summer school at Wood River School recovering a total of 160 credits. This was a partnership between the I Have a Dream Foundation and BCSD.

At Bellevue Elementary Power Scholars (rising 2nd and 3rd graders from various elementary schools) are spending time sharpening their literacy and math skills. They are doing this while also using healthy practices of cloth face coverings and social distancing.
Summer may seem to be a quiet time for schools, but there is a good deal of work being done to prepare for the coming school year. Principals, Custodians, Buildings and Grounds crews, Technology staff, and District Office staff are all working to ensure buildings are repaired and clean, schedules are ready, materials and supplies are ready for students and teachers, and spaces are modified to meet changing needs. Teachers are taking professional development classes to enhance their instructional practice.

Reopening: Safely and Responsibly
It is very likely that different plans for school will be used at different times of the year depending on the infection rate of COVID in our community. Plans are being updated based on feedback from parents, students, staff, and community. For more information on reopening plans, click here.
