Mental health in later life
Mental health problems are not inevitable as we age. But if they do occur, help is available.

Several factors can affect your mental health later in life, especially physical illness, loneliness, and the death of a loved one, to name a few.

Why Strokes Can Affect Women, Men Differently
"Women have more strokes, and are more likely to have symptoms such as fatigue and mental confusion rather than classic indications such as paralysis. Women also tend to have more severe strokes, according to the authors of a new study."
According to HealthDay, “it is often said that stroke affects men and women differently. Now, scientists say the location of the stroke’s damage in the brain may help explain why.”

The 7 Worst Habits for Your Brain
“You already know that a bad diet and a permanent indentation on the couch aren't good for your brain. But there are some lesser-known daily routines that could be undermining your cognition.”

The ‘C’ Word—Breast Cancer Awareness Month
During the month of October, around the world, people pause to show their love and support for the millions of lives that have been affected by breast cancer. According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), each year in the United States, approximately 255,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer and about 42,000 women pass away from this devastating disease. According to the American Cancer Society, with exception to skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer noted in American women.

Employees of Gardant and friends participated in 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer's - Kankakee & Iroquois County, IL
This year participants of the Walk to End Alzheimer's and all other dementia had the option of attending a local event or Walk From Home in his/her neighborhood. The dollars raised through Walk help individuals living with the disease and their caregivers access support wherever and whenever they need it from a 24/7 Helpline. The Helpline connects families facing the disease through support groups and online networks. The Alzheimer’s Association® continues to advance global research toward treatments, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
