Auditor Tips
Wrap up your Mid-Year Audit

If you haven’t started your audit yet, now is a good time to begin. If your unit or council does not have a designated auditor, the president can appoint a member to the position along with at least one other person for audit review, or find a CPA to do the audit. Click here to watch the Fast & Furious Audits webinar.

Questions? Email your council president or auditor, or the Ninth District PTA auditor Michael King

Term Limits in PTA?

PTA Supports Ban on Flavored Tobacco

Thanks to the efforts of California State PTA and a broad coalition of health organizations, California outlawed the sale of flavored tobacco products in 2020 with Senate Bill 793. However, the tobacco industry gathered enough signatures to postpone the ban until California voters can weigh in at the polls on November 8. San Diego is looking to pass their own ban. If your PTA would like to advocate on this issue, use this California State PTA Statement as authority.

Local Mental Health Resources for Teens and Youth
If you know a young person in distress, here are resources to help.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness in San Diego is the community’s voice on mental illness. NAMI has created a smart phone app designed to get help fast to those who need it.

Call (888) 724-7240 for support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The easiest way to remember the number is to think of getting help 7/24.

The Kickstart clinical team provides confidential assessment and early assistance for young people at risk for a serious mental health challenge. Their team is available for educational training and presentations.
