Achates Power Opens New Michigan Office
On Monday, June 4 we held an open house to welcome colleagues, partners, and customers to our new Michigan office. We were honored to have Senator Debbie Stabenow join us to mark the occasion.

Thank also to the city of Farmington Hills for their assistance and support throughout the process.

Three years ago we opened our first Michigan office to be a part of the automotive center of the United States. This new space signifies continued prosperity and we look forward to filling it with a growing team.
Achates Power Opposed-Piston Diesel Engine Heavy Duty Truck Project Partnership Awarded $9 Million from California
Achates Power has been awarded $9 million in grant funding to demonstrate Opposed-Piston Diesel Engines in Class 8 commercial vehicles. The on-road demonstration will show that the Achates Power OP Engine delivers more fuel efficiency, dramatically less NOx and CO 2 emissions and the full performance fleets require.

The Achates Power Opposed-Piston Engine is engineered to achieve superior fuel efficiency by virtue of its lower heat losses, improved combustion and reduced pumping losses. The Achates Power OP Engine delivers ultra-low NOx by managing exhaust gas temperatures to ensure rapid catalyst light off and by maintaining aftertreatment temperatures at optimum operating conditions in all driving conditions.
The Advanced Combat Engine
The 14.3L, four-cylinder, Opposed-Piston Engine was developed for the US Army's TARDEC (Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center) in partnership with Cummins. The engine produces 1,000hp @ 2,600 RPM.
