I have had the privilege of collaborating with and serving the professional design community for more than 18 years.

Now, it is my honor to serve as the president of the Central California/Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers for 2022-2023.

Through my involvement with ASID, I have cultivated strong personal and professional relationships with our chapter members, my fellow board members and our Industry Partners. I have also served on the Chapter Board as Design Community Coordinator, Finance Director, President-Elect, and now serve as President.

My experience with ASID has been both rewarding and gratifying, and I enthusiastically welcome the promises that 2022 has in store for all of us.

ASID’s mission of advancing the interior design profession is facilitated through regular events, including Lunch & Learns, vendor parties, Las Vegas Market events and holiday gatherings. These activities educate, inform, and strengthen our community as a whole while also providing opportunities for individual growth and professional advancement.

I encourage you to become involved in the ASID CAC/NV Chapter by attending community events or volunteering to serve on our many committees. The events committee is always the most popular, but we also need your expertise on other committees including:

● Awards

● NCIDQ Study Group

● Design Community Coordinator (DCC) in Sacramento, Fresno, Las Vegas, and Reno

● Professional Member Internship offerings for Interior Design College Students

If you have never served on a committee before, don’t be intimidated! New volunteers bring fresh ideas — ideas that improve and advance our entire community. There are so many opportunities to share your knowledge and talents with our organization and help make it stronger.

A special thanks goes out to all of our committee members and chairs for your dedication and hard work. You are the engine that keeps our chapter running!

Of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention our annual ANDYZ Awards — a national competition established by ASID and LVDC to recognize exceptional work from designers and design firms. I encourage all interior designers, architects, design students and showrooms to participate.
