As a Trade Compliance Manager for an Oilfield Services company with an engineering background, I am well aware of the challenges that export compliance can present to exporters – Classification is complicated, the Regulations are constantly changing, and compliance and engineering personnel often speak very different languages. Being a member of the Houston DEC executive committee enables me to look for opportunities to help bridge the gap and facilitate exports for our Houston area companies.

Houston District Export Council hosted a webinar/Q&A session on June 24, 2020, with Alale Allal, the Regional Export Finance Manager for the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of International Trade covering Texas and Oklahoma. The webinar included a general overview of SBA and explored how SBA works with small businesses to promote exporting.
