Saying Goodbye.............

It is never easy to lose one of our members and past presidents. Brent Leech and his wife Julie have embarked on a new adventure which takes them to Arizona! We are excited for them and wish them all the best, BUT, we will miss them terribly! Thank you Brent for your hard work, commitment and generous monetary contribution to the North Central Chapter.

We are forever grateful for all you have done for us!

daffodils.jpg
Daffodils all fall under the bbotanical name, Narcissus. Regionally, jonquils may be called daffodils, but this is botanically incorrect. The overall scientific name is Narcissus and covers over 13,000 hybrids of both daffodil bulbs and jonquils. The major difference between daffodils vs. jonquils would be the leaves. Jonquils have slender leaves that round on the tips while daffodils sport slim, sword-tipped foliage. Jonquil stems are hollow and usually shorter than daffodil varieties. They tend to have clusters of flowers on the stems and a delicate fragrance.

Election Results!

Thank you to all the nominees who accepted the opportunity to run for a position in our Chapter and to all who voted. Your dedication to North Central is appreciated!!

The times for the 5-hour marathons are as follows: Friday, April 8th, 9pm-2am EST; Saturday, April 9th, 10am-3pm EST; and Sunday, April 10th, 12pm-5pm. For night owls, there are additional airings at 2 and 2:30 am EST April 11-14.

Patience Pickner, AIFD, had the fabulous experience of judging these designs on behalf of Kennicott Brothers. The theme celebrated remarkable women and these designs were created by Chicago area florists! I had the opportunity to see them and couldn't resist sharing them in our newsletter. ENJOY!
