FROM BISHOP JENNIFER

Dear Ones,

I am delighted to report that, earlier this afternoon, the Rev. Canon Kristin Uffelman White was elected Tenth Bishop of Southern Ohio

Canon Kristin, now Bishop-elect Kristin, has faithfully served our Diocese as Canon to the Ordinary for Congregational Development and Leadership since 2018 and I have been blessed to call her a colleague and friend for 11 years. It has been a joy to be in ministry with her during her time with us in The Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis. As a key member of my executive team, she has ensured that our initiatives and resources reflect our diocesan mission. Through her work as a director for the College for Congregational Development, she has equipped bold, faithful leaders— both lay and ordained people— with what they need in order to lead well.

While we will miss Bishop-elect Kristin's daily presence in our diocese, we are incredibly excited for the work she will do supporting and leading our siblings in the Diocese of Southern Ohio. And because our dioceses are neighbors and members of Province V,  there will be plentiful opportunities to collaborate and witness all that she and The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio will accomplish in their ministry together.

Pending consents of the wider church, Bishop-elect Kristin will be ordained and consecrated February 17, 2024. As we look forward to that day, please join me in celebration and prayer for Bishop-elect Kristin, her family, and The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio in their transition.

Faithfully,

The Rt. Rev. Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows

ICAN assisted 97 clients at the agency in August.

The ICAN Food Pantry served over 410 households in Q2.

The food pantry is in need of reusable bags, peanut butter and jelly, along with sliced bread.

We are also in need of a few more volunteers. We need assistance during our pantry hours on Thursdays, along with people willing to pick up and deliver bread. If you have an interest in serving, please reach out to the ICAN Food Pantry director, Jill Phillips, at [email protected]

Thank you for your continued support!
