Upcoming Events
Our small group gatherings are starting soon! These gatherings are a chance for us to have dinner together, enjoy each other's company & conversation. They're also an opportunity to learn more about the oral history interviews we're doing to help document some of St. Matthew's history, the impact the parish has had on you, as well as the impact you've had on St. Matt's.

Any parishioner of St. Matthew's is welcome to be a part of one of our small groups and/or interviewed.

PARISH ACTION SATURDAY 

The next event will be on May 20th.

Thanks to everyone who made the first two Action Days a success.  The next action day is Saturday May 20.  Breakfast and morning prayer at 9am and work will be from 9:30 to 11:30.  Potential projects will include removing old carpeting from office areas, painting Father Frank's office, continuing to deep clean, weeding and tree trimming, installing new lights in the parish hall.

While the first couple events will feel like a work day, they are also intended to be parish gatherings - The one in June is on the day of the PRIDE parade so we can participate as a congregation and another is for the blessing of the animals in October.  

Future dates are June 10, August 5, October 7, December 2.

Concerts on the Canal

The Beatless - June 1 at 6pm

The Kruse Family Stardust Terrace at the History Center is the place to be on Thursday nights in downtown Indianapolis.

The 2023 Concerts on the Canal series features a spectacular lineup of entertainers including Jennie DeVoe, The Cool City Band, The Bishops, and Groove Essential.

Free Admission Thursdays
The History Center is free on Thursdays during concert season and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

CONCERT DETAILS

DIOCESAN HAPPENINGS
Register for Pride Parade and Festival June 10

The Indy Pride Festival is set for Saturday, June 10. 

Schedule of events:
  • 9 a.m. Prayer Service at Chatham Commons Park
  • 10 a.m. Parade
  • 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Diocesan Booth 

Volunteers are needed to march in the parade, staff the diocesan booth at the festival, or both. Registration is required to march in the parade or volunteer for a booth shift.

Participation in the parade is free of charge. Tickets are required for the festival but are not on sale yet. Volunteers who sign up for a one-hour shift at the IndyDio booth at the festival will receive a free ticket.

Participants are encouraged to increase our visibility by wearing their IndyDio Pride t-shirts. We have new shirts (including youth sizes!) or shirts from last year available to order for home delivery. The order deadline is May 16 so they can arrive in time to wear for the Indy Pride Parade.

Women's Retreat at Waycross

June 17- 20 or June 20-24

Registration is open for the Women's Retreat at Waycross, June 17-20 or June 20-24, with the theme: "Let's Go Down to the River to Pray." This session is designed to encourage spiritual reflection and conversation among participants and are enhanced by the opportunity to participate in a variety of group and camp activities.
