Hello AVA Community,

How does the PTO impact AVA? The PTO is a part of AVA that takes great pride in helping the AVA Community which includes; administration, teachers/staff, students, and families.

The mission of the PTO is:
to organize, communicate, and facilitate various activities and fundraisers that align with the school’s policies and mission and vision while providing positive interaction and/or fostering support among the AVA parents, teachers, staff, administration, and the surrounding community.

The PTO is responsible for two major fundraisers per year. This year our first fundraiser was our Fun Run – we raised just over $40,000.00 thanks to the wonderful support from our very own community! Our second fundraiser is being planned as we speak. Back by popular demand – a Spring Golf Tournament, details are being wrapped up, location and date will be locked down within the next week! In addition to conventional fundraising we have raised money through Monthly Spirit Days/Nights and AVA Giving Cards (Scrip Card Program).

What does the PTO do with the funds raised?
This year the PTO is raising funds to support the literacy needs and upgrading the AVA Library. The PTO purchased an additional bike rack and new recess carts. We also assisted the PE/Athletic Department by upgrading/enhancing the scoreboard, purchased the AVA Blue Tree App, and supported the one-to-one smartbooks

In addition to fundraising we plan events such as the AVA Family Carnival, The End of the Year Celebration, Treats with Grandparents, Donuts with Dad’s, and AVA Casino Night. The PTO also leads Staff Appreciation and works alongside the AVA Student Senate.

Please follow this link for the most up to date info about the PTO.

The PTO is ALWAYS looking for help. We have openings to serve on the PTO as a PTO Officer. We are also in the process of creating multiple sub-committees within the PTO. Getting involved on the PTO is an excellent avenue for meeting other AVA Parents! Please email [email protected] to learn more! The PTO meets monthly, the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm in the AVA Library; the meetings are open for all to attend. All meetings can be found on the AVA Event Calendar.

Gratefully,
