Success Story
Ken was laid off in May from Office Depot. His area of expertise (Loss Prevention Management on the corporate level) is highly specialized, with very few advertised positions.
Ken came to the Workforce Center of Will County where he met with Pam; a career planner; to make sure his job search techniques were current. Pam also worked with Ken on updating his resume and LinkedIn profile. He landed a temporary position with Party City. After taking everything he learned from the Workforce Center, he continued his job search and continued being active on LinkedIn. December 2019, Ken was hired as a full-time permanent employee as an Area Loss Prevention Manager for Michael's Corporation.
Not only did Ken take job search advice that was provided to him, but he referred his son to the On-the-Job-Training program, which lead his son to find a career and employment at Four Seasons Heating and Cooling.
