New Center for Health Promotion is ‘improving oral health, improving overall health’

The new Center for Health Promotion at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry is a first-of-its-kind clinic offering a patient-centered comprehensive approach to oral care. The center aims to identify and manage oral and systemic risk factors emphasizing patient education and interprofessional care.

School of Dentistry tops Texas, ranks 10th nationally in NIDCR funding

UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry is ranked No. 1 in Texas and 10th nationally among dental schools that received federal research funding from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research in 2023, per NIDCR rankings.

DDS Class of 2024 celebrated at Senior Awards

Students from the Dental Class of 2024 were recognized at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry’s annual DDS Senior Awards. Over 60 awards were bestowed upon members of the soon-to-be graduating class.

Alumna Lyons donates laser unit to periodontics clinic

The Advanced Periodontics Program at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry has been gifted a new dental laser unit courtesy of alumna Lillian Lyons, DDS, MS ’05. The unit will serve both inpatient treatment and the education of residents.

OKU’s Mu Mu Chapter welcomes 2024 class

Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society’s Mu Mu Chapter at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry welcomed its Class of 2024 inductees in April. The 11-member class featured 10 students from the Dental Class of 2024 and one faculty member.
