Remember Propane Grill Bottle Fill Day is Friday May 26th!

Please help us keep the ferry safe and Coast Guard compliant by taking advantage of the on-island propane grill bottle fill event at the fire station on Friday May 26th! Bring existing grill bottles to fill, purchase new bottles, or dispose of old bottles (no disposal cost).

A big thank you to the PIVFD and Propane Plus for working with us to host this event!

Welcome Roanoke!

After a long 5 day journey from North Carolina, the newly purchased ferry vessel Roanoke has arrived safely in Rhode Island.

Built in 1994, this vessel comes from the same class as our current vessel the Herbert C. Bonner. Roanoke will need significant modifications before it may be fit for service to Prudence Island, and we will provide updates as the project progresses. In the future, the Roanoke and the Herbert C. Bonner will trade off as our in-service vessels. With these similar size vessels, we hope to better accommodate the vehicle traffic needs of the island.

Parking in Bristol

We have recently been informed that at this time the Town of Bristol is unable to open the lot across the street from the ferry. We have reached out to the Prudence Island Planning Commission in hopes they can help us in facilitating a solution.

We have updated our parking page on our website to include some additional information on where other municipal lots are located in Bristol. CLICK HERE FOR PARKING INFO

Please pay attention to parking signs when leaving your vehicle. The lot at the ferry is designated for Bristol Town Marina parking only, vehicles parked in this lot without a marina sticker will be towed. If your vehicle is towed, please call the Bristol Police department and provide your license plate #.

Majority of the street parking in close proximity to the ferry is 2 hour parking, the Harbormasters office will be enforcing parking along Thames Street from the State Street Pier to Constitution Street and lower Constitution Street down to the water. The Harbormaster's office will also be enforcing parking in the lot at the ferry, state street pier lot, and lot at the armory building. They are not offering overnight parking options at this time.

If you are issued a ticket, the ticket should list all the information needed for payments and disputes.

We know how difficult the loss of parking has been. We have reached out to several parties and are continuing to look for parking options for Prudence Island residents and visitors.
