Based upon the revolutionary new research and book by Lawrence C. Katz, Ph.D. and Manning Rubin, this presentation exposes the myths concerning senility and memory loss by explaining how the brain prefers to learn and remember.

More importantly, dramatic neurobic exercises will be explained and demonstrated. These exercises will allow the participants (and their brains) to do the following:

  • Produce more brain nutrients for longevity
  • Acquire instant creativity
  • Access more areas of memory and recall
  • Establish more neural pathways and get more of the brain involved in our everyday activities
  • Jump-start underused senses for peak performance
  • Change everyday activities into powerful brain exercises

New research indicates that we can actually "grow" brain cells and manufacture synapses to compensate for the effects of aging.

Have you forgotten someone's name recently? Do you keep misplacing items around the house or losing your car keys? Forgot a luncheon date with a friend? Discover why these things happen and how to build a neural defense system for keeping your brain flexible and productive.

Bruce Boguski is an author, motivational speaker, trainer, columnist and social media personality well known for his ability to inspire others to "do the impossible". Bruce knows first hand the attitude and skills required to overcome physical and mental challenges. At age 18, he was paralyzed as the result of an automobile accident. While doctors were wondering whether he would ever walk again, he was busy recuperating. Two years later he had regained full use of his body and went on to become a two-time state champion in racquetball, a football and baseball coach at Van Buren High School and the men's and women's tennis coach at the University of Findlay.

Today, Bruce is President of The Winner's Edge, a peak performance consulting firm in Findlay, Ohio. He has become an internationally known presenter on motivational tactics and mental toughness training for education, sports, business and life.

What is text neck syndrome?

Text neck is the term used to describe the neck pain and damage sustained from looking down at your cell phone, tablet, or other wireless devices too frequently and for too long. Increased angle adds significant weight to your neck to hold the head in this position. Using a mobile device often can lead to poor posture and symptoms of text neck including:

  • Instant upper back or neck pain when using a handheld device.
  • Nagging or sharp pain in the neck or shoulders at the end of the day.
  • General shoulder pain and tightness.
  • Intermittent or constant headache made worse when looking down or using the computer.

For relief, sit up tall in a chair and keep your chin parallel to the floor. Without tilting your head in any direction, gently draw your head and chin back, like you're making a double chin. Be careful not to jam your head back. You should feel a stretch along the back of the neck.

Join the National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls and Participate in the Annual Safety Council Challenge

To raise awareness and reduce injuries and fatalities, OSHA promotes its annual  National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls . The stand-down encourages employers across the nation to hold events in conjunction with the multi-day event, May 6-10 this year. As always, the stand-down encourages employers to pause during their workday for topic discussions, safety demonstrations, and training in hazard recognition and fall prevention.

Join SCSC in support of the National Stand-Down. Train your employees on fall prevention during the month of May and report the number of employees trained to SCSC using the report linked here .
