St Cuthbert's Recycles

New Initiative

This is a new section which we are introducing to enable St. Cuthbert's parishioners to recycle usable furniture, toys, and equipment. The way this will operate is that when you have something that you think a parishioner will benefit from, rather than it being thrown into the garbage, let's recycle it here. Snap a photo, send it to Rev. Monte with your contact details. These will be posted here so that those willing to take items off your hand will get in touch with you to organize pick up ~ no clutter, junk, bric-a-brac, flotsum and jetsum, please.

2026 Stewardship Drive

Deficit Update & Closing Appeal for 2026 Stewardship Drive

My name is Ida the Treasurer at St. Cuthbert’s.

Thank you all for your continued generosity and support throughout the year for your financial contributions so far.

Our financial position on October 31, 2025, is a deficit of $20,168. We expected to make a deficit at the end of October 2025 of $8,842 as per the budget. This gives us a shortfall of $11,329

There are a couple of factors that contributed to this deficit.

i.      We have not made enough contributions to cover our expense (8% less than we budgeted for envelope giving for the period)

ii.     We have spent 4% over the budget on expenses for the period (due to some unforeseen expenses and inflation in general).

The net effect of these two points resulted in the deficit. Unless we increase our contributions, we will end up with a deficit of about $11,000 at the end of the year.

Once again, thank you all for your continued generosity and support throughout the year. I simply wanted to share a clear picture of where we stand so we can all be informed as we approach the end of 2025. While we are currently in a deficit, I’m hopeful that, together, we can finish the year on a stronger note. I appreciate everything each of you contributes—whether through giving, volunteering, or simply being part of this community.

Thank you for returning your 2026 Pledge Forms as this gives us an opportunity to factor in the projected 2026 parishioners’ planned giving into the 2026 Budgeting process. This enables us to prioritize programs and budget votes for running St. Cuthbert’s. If you missed a chance to fill a Pledge Form out, ask the church office for a copy, and we will keep accepting them and collate the final figure by 1 December.

Thank you for listening.

Ida de-Heer-Amissah

Check out the thermometer for the 'Treasure' part as it stands on the Notice Board in the Narthex. Thanks for bringing in your 2026 Pledges, you can continue bringing them in so that we can get to our $320K target for 2026. We will give you a final figure on 1 December 2025.
