Nominate your community hero for the Citizen of the Year Award!

The Fairfax Parks and Recreation Commission (PARC) opened the nomination period for folks to nominate their community hero for the 2024 Citizen of the Year Award.


We invite all residents to nominate deserving individuals who have made significant contributions to our community.

Town Council will consider road bond measure tomorrow evening

On Wednesday, August 7, the Town Council will consider a road bond measure for the November 2024 ballot. Last month, at the July 17 Town Council meeting, staff presented an updated 5-year Streets and Roads Plan, which includes additional road work if voters approve this proposed road bond measure.

Consideration of a maintenance agreement for the 100-acre Wall Property

Another item being considered by the Council tomorrow evening is a maintenance agreement between the Town and the Marin County Open Space District (MCOSD). The proposed agreement outlines the responsibilities of the Town and MCOSD for the routine maintenance of trails on the Wall Property. This agreement aims to ensure the preservation and accessibility of the trails, benefiting the community and promoting the conservation of open space.

Fairfax Food Pantry needs paper grocery bags!

The Fairfax Food Pantry supports 300 local families, and they need your unused paper bags!


How You Can Help: Donate regular-sized paper grocery bags in good condition. These bags are essential for packing groceries for delivery to those who cannot visit the food pantry.


Drop-Off Details:


  • When: Saturdays, 7-10 AM
  • Where: Fairfax Community Church, 2398 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.

Qualifying short-term rentals (STRs) in the Town of Fairfax must be registered. This annual registration involves a fee and requires the collection and remittance of the Hotel User’s Tax (HUT).

Housing Warm Line

The Housing Warm Line was implemented to help provide guidance for renter protections, including questions about rent increases, evictions, the petition process, and the Town Code. The Housing Warm Line is for tenants and housing providers.

Chipper Days in Fairfax – Sign up!

The Chipper Day Program offers free curbside pickup and disposal of excess vegetation from residential properties. The purpose of the program is to help with the process of removal and disposal of hazardous vegetation to residents. 


The Chipper Program is coming back to Fairfax later this month, don’t miss your opportunity to sign up to have your vegetation removed with the help of this awesome program! Upcoming chipper days in Fairfax:

Learn how to save a life! Learn what to do if someone near you experiences cardiac arrest, overdose, or severe bleeding.

Volunteers needed!


If you’re a healthcare professional or someone with prior CPR/First Aid training, or, if you have no experience but are interested, you are encouraged to attend one of two short training sessions on Thursday, 8/15 or Friday, 8/16. 


All volunteers must review self-study training materials and receive just-in-time training on 8/17. Volunteers can sign up online.

Ember Stomp Festival

Ember Stomp’s immersive experience into the world of wildfire preparation includes wildfire products and service providers, fire smart landscaping exhibits, and live burn demos.

The Ross Valley Senior Luncheon will be held on every first Thursday of the month for lunch and social gathering from 11am – 2pm.
