PG&E is preparing for extreme winter weather across the region, with an elevated outage risk (Category 4–5) forecast for December 23–25 in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties. Residents should be prepared for power outages that may last a day or longer.
What to expect
-
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning (Dec. 23–24): Heavy rain and widespread wind gusts of 45–60 mph, with localized gusts exceeding 70 mph.
-
Wednesday evening through Friday (Dec. 24–26): A second storm brings additional moderate to heavy rain, continued breezy conditions, and saturated ground that may increase impacts. Total rainfall through Friday could exceed 2 inches in some North Bay areas.
These conditions may lead to downed trees, localized flooding, and extended power outages.

| | | The Craft Faire was a magical community success | |
Fairfax Recreation & Community Services wrapped up another truly magical Holiday Craft Faire—and what a celebration it was!
The Pavilion came alive with cherished traditions: lively music filling the air, warm and delicious food, joyful kids’ activities, hands-on wreath making, and a stellar lineup of talented local crafters and artisans who transformed the space into a cozy winter marketplace. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to shop local, support sustainable makers, and celebrate the season with us. Seeing the Pavilion bursting with people, laughter, and holiday joy was the greatest gift of all. We’re so grateful to our vendors, performers, volunteers, and community for making this event shine—until next year!

| | | Business License Renewals Are Going Digital in 2026! | |
The Town of Fairfax is modernizing its business license program and moving to a new online system on our website. Beginning January 1, 2026, all business license renewals will be completed digitally — no more paper packets in the mail!
Starting January 1, 2026, you may make your payment online using credit/debit, ACH or Apple and Google Pay.
You may still, however, visit Town Hall, during front counter hours Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-12 and 1-5pm if you prefer to pay by check or you need any help with the new system.
As we prepare for this transition, the Town is also conducting a routine review to make sure our business records are complete. If you receive a notice, don’t worry, we’re also offering a temporary amnesty program through February 28, so businesses can catch up on missed renewals without penalties.
We’re excited to roll out a system that will make renewals faster, easier, and more convenient.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months coming via mail and email (if we have your email address) and check out more information about this on our Business License webpage.
