Mass+Main includes three buildings on two city blocks at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Main Street in Central Square, Cambridge. In the spring of 2017 [  t  ]  Twining Properties received approvals for a 308 unit mixed-income residential community.

The end of Columbia Street will be one-way for one block for the construction of the six-story building while the City builds a large storm tank under the parking lot. Two-way traffic will be restored next summer.

Construction access for the Mass Ave Building and the City project will continue from Bishop Allen Drive. The sidewalk is closed until early 2020.

The sidewalk in front of 47 Bishop Allen Dr will be closed until this fall. A protected pedestrian path will be provided throughout. Police details will assist at street crossings.
The garage was excavated and a 5 foot thick concrete foundation installed with 350 tons of steel and 2,500 cubic yards of concrete. The tower crane was erected and the 19 story concrete elevator core will start soon with an expected completion this fall.

The basement and foundations were completed and two levels of steel framing were erected before concrete slabs were poured. Wood framing will start by the end of June and be completed this Fall.
Framing for the four-story building was followed with exterior building wrap, blue insulation board and windows. The exterior wall assembly will meet the LEED Gold standard.

Crews are installing plumbing, electrical and mechanical rough-ins. The installation of earth-toned exterior clapboards will start in July. The 23 apartments will be ready for occupancy in the middle of the fall.
