Showcasing 2022 Co-Learning Plans
Introducing Co-Learning Plan Author:
Sean Kammer
The CCED is excited to announce Co-Learning Plan author, Sean Kammer, as a part of MSU’s EDA University Center for Regional Economic Innovation '22 cohort. Sean has a strong history of Michigan-based community and economic development working from Flint and Royal Oak to Pontiac and Birmingham. His focus will be on a Downtown Pontiac study for local economic development - moving away from the downtown as a tourist-based economy and destination, and moving toward demand-side economics for residents surrounding the loop. Ultimately, he hopes to provide a marketing plan and outline of proposed steps to foster an inclusive economy in Downtown Pontiac that involves the participation of the current residents of the community by leveraging opportunities to engage adjacent neighborhoods in development momentum.
Announcing Ashley Bellant's Co-Learning Plan
MSU’s EDA University Center for Regional Economic Innovation is happy to award Co-Learning Plan author, Ashley Bellant, who will focus this project year on simulating implementation of local regional tax base sharing. Ashley hopes this will aid residents, advocates, and policymakers within mid-Michigan to make more informed decisions. Additionally, Bellant will include talking points for proponents of regional tax base sharing and a roadmap detailing the policy and legal steps needed to adopt and implement this plan.
