Youth Group Fundraiser October 3 Supporting Camp

Open Door Youth were given an opportunity recently to sell some wood from a local church member who lost a few trees in the ice storms. This generous donation will allow us to support one of our favorite places, Camp Magruder. We have a number of pick up truck loads of wood for $100. The wood is 80-90% oak and the rest fir. If you are able to come out to West Salem on Sunday Oct 3 between the hours of 1-4, our youth group will load your truck for you. You could even have the wood delivered for another $50. Supplies are limited. If you would like some of the firewood or to make a donation to our Oregon-Idaho camps, contact Jeff at 541-654-1878 or and he will give you more details.
Parent and Youth Poll

The Youth Council met last week and discussed what our Fall schedule will look like. With the Delta variant numbers increasing our first priority is to keep everyone safe. We are pretty clear that we are not comfortable meeting indoors at this time. My original plan was to return to an online presence every Thursday and an in person/outside event each Sunday afternoon. I know that there are some youth who are not able to meet in person, thus the Thursday option and I know that for most youth you are exhausted from all of the zoom meetings you have had and want to see your friends again. As we enter into the fall the youth council and I wanted to take a poll of parents and youth to determine your comfort level with in person meetings. Any feedback you can give will help us moving forward. Jeff
What would be your comfort level for fall youth group? (choose one)
I only feel comfortable in my youth (or me) participating in Zoom youth group
I feel comfortable with outdoor events at this time with proper precautions
We should hold off on in person until the Covid numbers decrease

Please Take a Minute to fill out a new Permission Form

As we begin to start moving some of our activities to "in person" as Covid-19 restrictions allow, we need to have everyone's parents fill out an updated permission form. Please follow the link below to our new online form. If you are new to Open Door or have been a part of the group for years we ask you to update your permission form.
