Petroleum Tank Farm Demolition Begins Along Riverfront

After many years of collaborative conversation, the demolition and cleanup at the site of Equilon Enterprises, LLC, (dba Shell Oil Products US) petroleum tank farm has begun at 1509 South River Road. This site, which has been in operation since the 1940's, will transition from industrial operations to mixed use development. California Coastal Cleanup Day

Gallons and gallons of discarded trash along our waterfront at the Broderick Boat Ramp site in West Sacramento were picked up and disposed of on September 18th. This marked the day for the annual California coastal Cleanup Day. The event happens every September and is staffed by volunteers like you.

Do You Know the Yolo County Archives?

Founded in 1985, the Yolo County Archives is the official repository for Yolo County Records. Our county's historical collection dates all the way back to 1850, and up to the present time. There you will find maps, photos, newspapers, and other items of county significance. To learn more about this remarkable treasure click here.

Yolo County Children's Alliance Community Giveaway Day

YCCA held their annual Community Giveaway Day on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Sutter Health Park. As in years past, this charitable event was a huge success with over 700 local families the recipients. In addition, over 1200 children received winter coats! Once again, our community showed their unwavering support of each other by volunteering and donating items for those less fortunate. Mark your calendar for the Holiday Toy Distribution on Saturday, December 18th, 10:00 am. This event will be held at the Family Resource center located at 1200 Anna Street in West Sacramento.

District 1 Boards/Commissions

I would like to take this opportunity and thank Stephanie Chavez for her service on the Library Advisory Board. Stephanie jumped on this board in January of 2018 as District 1 Representative, and was nothing but an asset for almost 4 years.

District 1 currently has vacancies on the following Boards/Commissions:

Childcare & Development Planning Commission has an opening for a consumer;

Library Advisory Board has a general District 1 opening; and

Local Mental Health Board has a general District 1 opening.
