St. Bernard's Academy Alumni Newsletter
Great news! SB senior Raymond Z has landed a spot at YALE! There have been thirty local students who have made the Yale interview round over the past fifteen years. Over that time period, Raymond is only the SECOND Humboldt student to be accepted to this top 5 school in the world. Do you know of any other SB grads who made it to Yale? If so, please let us know.

St. Bernard's Academy has been around since 1912. We have always depended on the generosity of our community and alumni to help us provide a high quality education to the children of Humboldt County.

I am excited to announce that with the help of McGregor Scott (Class of 1981), California's newest U.S. Attorney, a separate Foundation has been created to ensure the future of our beloved school. The Foundation will house a scholarship Endowment and a fund for building improvements and replacement. Chuck Petrusha is the Foundation President. On the board we have outstanding SB graduates like Kathy Hayes, Cathy Maher, Rex Bohn, Becca Meyer, Patrick Shanahan, Bob Robertson, Cameron Renner, and Nathan Zibilich to name a few. We look forward to your continued support. Go SB!

Sincerely,
Paul Shanahan
President/Principal
A Visit with Sisters Of St. Joseph
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange stay connected to St. Bernard's through the CSJ Education Network. The sisters provide professional development for teachers twice a year and hold bi-annual Principal Meetings in Orange. I just returned from the Spring meeting. Sister Judith sends her love to the SB family. While in Southern California I was able to take several of our recent graduates to dinner. They all are doing well in college and say they miss the SB family. They also wanted to send a thank you back to their teachers for being so supportive.

"Our Town" Comes to SB
David Hamilton, our Drama teacher, is directing "Our Town" this Spring. Our Town is a classic play about how the ordinary in life is extraordinary. The story follows two average families in New Hampshire in 1901. It deals with themes of life, love, death, and the inescapable passage of time, all narrated with a wink and a smile by an all-knowing stage manager who helps us to casually examine some of life's greatest mysteries.
