What's new at Body Yoga??
Spring has started off a little cool and wet but we have plenty of upcoming events to keep you warm and inspired! Well done to all of students who managed to keep a consistent practice during the cooler months and for those who have been in hibernation, we hope to see you on your mats soon! October Workshops, Courses & Events!

Kids and Teen Yoga Classes

Term 4 Commences Thursday 6th October

These classes will introduce your kids and teens to yoga in a simple, structured,
and uniquely effective program to help them calm themselves and
feel happy.  They will learn the basic postures and concepts of  yoga in a fun and supportive environment.


Kids class
Thurs 4.15-5pm
Age: Primary Years

Teens Class (11yo+)
Thursday 5-6pm

Pricing: $15 Trial class $130 – per 10 week school term

 
Beginner/Introduction Meditation 4 week course (Last One for 2016!)

People who practice meditation regularly experience reduced depression, fear and anxiety; a greater ability to relax and enjoy life; reduced insomniac and levels of stress; improved interpersonal relations; reduced chronic and acute pain and increased inner peace and well-being. 

Learn the foundations of Meditation to help you build a regular and successful home practice, step by step guidance with opportunities to ask questions in the company of students on a similar level. 

No prior experience of meditation is necessary just a desire to find peace in a crazy busy world.

Commencing Thursday October 6th for four consecutive weeks 7:45-8:45pm

Pricing: $90 for the four week course, which includes free entry to all our monthly meditation/relaxation sessions held throughout the year.

Mums and Bubs Yoga Course with Anna

This 6 week course will introduce you and your baby to yoga in a relaxed and supportive environment. You will learn practices which support you to feel vibrant and help you deal with the myriad pressures of motherhood.  This program will help you connect with yourself, your baby and share the motherhood journey in a supportive group.


Suitable for Mums from six weeks post partum and babies from six weeks to crawlers

Commencing Tuesday October 11th for six consecutive weeks 11:15-12:15pm

NEW *Beginners Yoga 5 week course*

Interested in Yoga but not sure where to start? Or perhaps you haven’t been on your mat for a while and want to get back to a regular practice? Whatever the reason…why not Join our 5 week Beginners Yoga Course and learn the foundations step by step in a supportive environment?
We will explore the basic tools of yoga  - Asana (body movements, to stretch and strengthen your body) - Prānāyāma (breath regulation to help energise you and balance the nervous system), Relaxation (techniques to de-stress body and  mind) and Meditation (focused reflection and peace of mind). As well as covering the background and history of yoga and an overview of the different types of yoga we offer here at Body Yoga.

When: Saturday 8th October – 5th November 9.45 -11 am

Thursday 3rd November – 1st December 7.45 – 9.00pm

Meditation

Investment: $10 (FREE if you've attended any previous meditation workshops this year). Everyone welcome! Includes relaxation and breathing  practices.



Spring into a new YOU Workshop with Anna!

Detoxing is a natural process that is designed to occur on a daily and seasonal basis.  This workshop offers a yoga regime and other simple practices to gently reboot and help you detox from winter and boost your vitality for the warmer months ahead.    This is an opportunity to introduce yoga and meditation to your life or deepen your current practice.  You will receive simple and gentle guidelines to enable you to take a giant leap forward in your health.
                                                             Workshop   Outline:
  • Yoga practice to remove unwanted waste/ toxins in a methodical, strategic and highly conscious way
  • Meditation to detox the mind and emotions, releasing outdated habits and thinking patterns, helping you to step deeper into vibrant health and inner freedom
  • A four week series of online resources to support you to evolve your practices and healthy habits throughout spring

Ayurveda talk with Dr Mahesh 

Learn everything Ayurveda!

Ayurveda is a complete healing modality that deals with preventative health, health improvement, health maintenance and the treatment of disease. It teaches you how to care for your health at all levels of your being. It utilises herbal, dietary and lifestyle modifications to facilitate healing and wellbeing. Its speciality and strength lie in the individualised approach it offers, and it treats the individual by identifying and addressing the underlying causes of the disease, stimulating the body’s natural tendency to heal itself.

Come and join us and meet Dr Mahesh who will talk all things Ayurveda! You will learn how to feel light and happy and take control of your life. Ayurveda offers advice on nutrition and diet, vitamin therapy, special diets for arthritis, acne, bowel problems, losing weight, diabetes, eczema, dermatitis, nervous disorders and much more.

Dr Mahesh Kalra has completed his Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicines and SurgeryM.D University (India), Doctor of Ayurvedic (India)medicine, Advanced Diploma of Health Science- Herbal Medicine (M.C.N.M- Australia), Diploma in Health Science- Nutrition(M.C.N.M–Australia), Reiki Master Degree- Reiki Research Foundation Centre – New Delhi- India.

Friday 6:15pm Vinyasa with Davide classes have began! 

These classes have been a little low in numbers but we're hoping as the weather improves so will the attendance. Davide  is a Level 3 Senior teacher and has been teaching Yoga for well over 20 years after training in Italy and later further training  in India, the home of Yoga. Davide will be also taking workshops, including a Pranyama workshop very soon. Davide is very keen to take these classes but we need the numbers to keep them going!

Yoga for a Cause!

Rachel is embarking on a 65km trek with her amazing team '3 ladies and a tradie' to help raise money for the Fred Hollows Foundation. She will be holding a 90 minute yin yoga class including a relaxing yoga nidra for $25 which will be a fully tax deductible donation. Please do not pay online unless it's via the donation link. Instead you can donate via the link below or bring $25 on the day, provide your email address and the receipt will be emailed to you.

Yoga Sampler Day!

We will be offering FREE YOGA all day on Saturday 26th November to those people who haven't tried Yoga at our Body Yoga studio or for those regular students who  attend the same style/teacher each week and would like to sample  a different style/teacher , so please tell your friends to come along, numbers are limited due to space so please note this is limited to first timers for either our Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Alignment or Restorative classes.
