LOA Celebrates 45 years at its Annual Meeting
The LOA will hold its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 28, at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center. The Chef’s Buffet Lunch will be served at noon with keynote address and award ceremony to follow. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. Cost to attend is $35 or table of 10 for $300.
In addition to celebrating 45 years of service to seniors in the community, the LOA will present awards for public-private partnership, interagency participation, a staff award, Helen I Phelps Volunteerism Award and the annual Babe and Sidney Louis Memorial Award for an outstanding philanthropist.
Nancy Howell Agee, CEO of Carilion Clinic, will deliver the keynote address focusing on Living Healthier, Longer.
While the LOA celebrates its past, we will also look to the “Faces of Our Future” to ensure more success in the coming years as we realize we are not the only ones who deserve merit for meeting the needs of our aging community for the past 45 years. Likewise, we will need others to join us on the journey to meet future needs.
The meeting is open to the public to attend. To make a reservation, send check or money order payable to Local Office on Aging to LOA Annual Meeting, PO Box 14205, Roanoke, VA 24038. Credit cards are also accepted.
