Soup for Seniors
Collection was this week and we were lucky to get a lot in early in the week thanks to some very warm temperatures and sunshine! Deliveries to the seniors began on Wednesday. Bagging and deliveries will continue Monday and Tuesday. So far, it looks like we'll need more soup to reach our 50,000 can goal in order to deliver 3,500 bags! Drop off ends Monday, February 13 at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul (4909 North Lane Drive).

LOA receives grant for assisted transportation

The LOA is one of the recipients of a special interest grant for the elderly from the Foundation for Roanoke Valley. The LOA and the seniors we serve will benefit greatly from a $40,793 grant from the Mary Louise Home Fund to provide Assisted Transportation. With this grant, a certified nursing assistant (CNA) will not only assist clients into the vehicle and drive them to their appointment, but also accompany clients to their doctor appointments.

Kiwanis donates to Meals on Wheels

The Kiwanis Club of Roanoke have long been supporters of LOA's Meals on Wheels program. They provide many volunteers and donate generously each year. LOA's CEO, Ron Boyd, accepted a $7,500 donation from the group this week. for Meals on Wheels. Thank you!
