Share the Plate – June 9 and 23
The Share the Plate recipient for the month of June is Religious Community Services or RCS Food Bank. During the summer donations to the RCS Food Bank go down and the need goes up. Children no longer are able to participate in school breakfast or lunch programs. Many children and families experience hunger. Summer should be a time for children to enjoy playing with friends, a summer vacation or time at the pool. But for many children Summer means Hunger. Join with RCS to end summer hunger with their 90 for 90 Campaign to End Summer Hunger. RCS is asking people to donate whatever they can to help feed those in need. For more information go to www.rcspinellas.org and click the Events and News tab.
Reverse Global Warming: Introduction to Drawdown based on Paul Hawken’s book: Sunday, June 9 at 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Through videos, group activities, critical discussions, and contemplation, you’ll discover the latest research on how this is possible and emerge filled with hope and ready for action! Facilitators: Cher Tanner & Douglas Bonar. Bring your FRIENDS!
