While, Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches has closed it's building and cancelled all in-person events, we are STILL here for you!

Thanks to technology and our committed staff, most of our services and classes are being done remotely. Our amazing staff is teaching, counseling and doing intakes from their home. The monthly Book Club and Boot-up Club will continue on blindcafe.net.

If you know someone who is going blind and struggling with low vision, or just needs to talk to someone, you can still reach out - we are here for you! Contact us at 561-586-5600 or e-mail at [email protected].

We know these are unprecedented times, but we will get through it - together!! Stay safe and continue to practice social distancing!
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month
In honor of Volunteer Appreciation Month, Lighthouse is spotlighting Erica Thomas.

Thomas is a current Lighthouse client, who has taken the initiative to attend and help out at every Focus Group meeting. She has an amazing attitude and a great sense of humor despite many challenges. She is encouraging and helpful to other clients, always lifting them up! Lighthouse is so fortunate to have an amazing volunteer like Erica!

Because we could not celebrate National Volunteer Appreciation Day in person, we mailed the Lighthouse volunteers a thank you card and gift certificate. While we all work from home and practice social distancing, Lighthouse is still connecting with those we serve and remains thankful to all who serve and support others!

The unprecedented COVID-19 crisis is having a tremendous impact on everyone in our community. But our vulnerable blind and low vision community are even harder hit.

70% of the blind community is unemployed and another large percentage of our clients are seniors, all at great risk of being directly or indirectly impacted by the virus.

We are committed to providing essential services to those in need and WE need YOUR help more than ever. Won’t you please help by donating to us. No amount is too small.

Together we can help those most impacted in our community. 100% of all donations will go directly to services.
