Foster Change strives to bring you the connections necessary to bring the foster community together Included in this newsletter are events specific to Foster Change but we encourage you to also participate in events going on throughout the valley all month.

Through the Eyes of a Child Foundation and Foster Change cordially invite you to the 2017 Holiday Open House which will include a cookie decorating station, food, pictures games and prizes.

PLAY DATE IN THE PARK
Foster Change would like to connect your children by having a Playdate In The Park . Connect with other foster parents or just come out and enjoy time with your children.

This event is open to new, future and existing members. We encourage you to bring guests that have an interest in joining Foster Change.

On every first Friday of each month, Grace Point Church has free respite care for foster parents from 6pm to 9pm.

The Adoption Exchange Presnets:
The Cost of Caring-Secondary Trauma and Burnout for Parents and Professionals

Parenting children with trauma histories is rewarding, difficult and demanding all at the same time. Foster Care, Kinship and Adoptive Parenting bring new experiences and challenges which may affect the child in care and the entire family system.

This training will address the Cost of Caring and how to effectively manage secondary trauma in order to protect ourselves from burnout. Come practice how to keep other people's chaos from becoming your own chaos!

If you are kinship caregiver and not yet licensed as a foster parent, there is a good chance you will qualify for some cash assistance for the care of your relative. If approved, you will receive $417 for the first child plus $59 for each additional child.
