Engaging Change: ANEW Partners with Local Providers to Support O-UT Program at Olympic Corrections Center

On February 10th, ANEW, along with several local area service providers, gathered at the Olympic Corrections Center in Forks, WA, to engage with and share resources and services with incarcerated men participating in the O-UT program. O-UT, which stands for Overhaul-Unrelenting Transfiguration, is a transformative program built on lived experiences and intentional accountability, aimed at empowering individuals to change their lives for the better.

Founded by Ginny Burton, the O-UT program offers intensive, supportive programming designed to help reduce cycles of incarceration, service dependence, child welfare involvement, and substance abuse. By addressing the root causes of these destructive patterns, O-UT delivers personalized support tailored to the specific needs of each participant.

The event provided an opportunity for participants to connect with a variety of service providers, each offering valuable resources to support their journey towards lasting change. Through this collaboration, we are helping create pathways for these men to transform their lives, break free from past struggles, and build a more hopeful future.

Spotlight on Success

Alejandro Garcia's Journey from Pre-Apprenticeship

to Inside Wireman

We are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable journey of Alejandro Garcia, a standout graduate from the PACE 42 program, who has shown incredible dedication and hard work in his path to becoming an Inside Wireman.

March 2024: Alejandro graduated from the PACE 42 pre-apprenticeship program, marking the beginning of his successful career in the electrical industry. His time in the program equipped him with the essential skills and knowledge to take the next step in his journey.

April 2024: Shortly after completing the PACE program, Alejandro secured a position with Sequoyah Electric Co. as a Material Handler. In this role, he was responsible for taking in deliveries and building out materials for journeymen—gaining valuable hands-on experience and insight into the industry.

December 2024: Alejandro’s dedication and work ethic paid off when he was accepted into the apprenticeship program. He completed an intensive bootcamp, a 2-3 month training program that sharpened his skills and prepared him for the next phase of his career.

Today: Alejandro is now an Inside Wireman 01, a position he earned through persistence and hard work. Reflecting on his journey, Alejandro shares,If I didn’t get the gig as a material handler, I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in now.”

His story serves as an inspiring example of how taking the first step, no matter how small it may seem, can lead to incredible opportunities.
