Empowering Futures: ANEW & IGNITE Worldwide Host STEM Event for Muckleshoot Tribal School Students
On April 7th, ANEW, in partnership with IGNITE Worldwide, welcomed students from Muckleshoot Tribal School for a transformative day of STEM exploration and career inspiration.
IGNITE Worldwide envisions a future where girls and gender-diverse youth have equal access to STEM education, resources, and representation. Their mission is to achieve gender equity in STEM by working with schools to provide in-school programming and hands-on events that connect students from underrepresented communities with inspiring role models and real-world career pathways.
The event showcased the power of partnership in advancing equity in education and the skilled trades. Students toured ANEW’s training facility, engaged in interactive "try-a-trade" stations led by current TRP students, and participated in a dynamic panel discussion led by women who are leaders in their industry and community. These hands-on experiences offered students a glimpse into real-world career paths and the confidence to envision themselves in those roles.

PACE 53 Visits I-405 Job Site
Earlier this Spring, PACE 53 students had the opportunity to tour the SKANSKA I-405 job site lead my General Superintendent, Danny Snyder. SKANSKA, in partnership with WSDOT and Sound Transit, broke ground this Spring on the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project, a transformative infrastructure initiative that will enhance 4.5 miles of I-405 in Bothell. The project includes two new express toll lanes, three new Stride bus rapid transit (BRT) stations, interchange upgrades at SR 522 and SR 527, and fish barrier corrections to support environmental restoration. Designed to reduce congestion, improve transit access, and promote sustainability, the project is slated for completion in 2028.
As a sponsor of ANEW, Skanska is committed to building not only critical infrastructure but also equitable career opportunities in the trades. By integrating workforce development into major transportation projects, Skanska is helping to ensure that economic growth and infrastructure investment benefit all communities across Washington.
