AF Association Global AF Aware Week
|
|
Over six million people have been diagnosed with AF in the US alone, although experts
estimate that at least a third more remain undiagnosed. With an aging population, this number is expected to double by 2050.
For this reason, we are promoting our
Detect, Protect, Correct & Perfect
campaign and asking all of our supporters to spread the word, whether this is by simply sharing and displaying information, holding an AF Awareness activity, or fundraising and donating to the AF Association.

Arrhythmia Alliance Founder and CEO Trudie Lobban was featured in the recent Media Planet supplement next to Barbara Streisand. Both Trudie and Barbara were featured to help raise awareness of the
Heart Health Campaign. This campaign educates and inspire readers to take control of their heart health. With heart disease accounting for over 600,000 deaths every year in the U.S., the "Family Health: Heart Health Edition" serves to inspire readers and to educate on necessary precautions to avoid risk.
Trudie's article
'A Mother's Mission to Educate the World About Arrhythmia' speaks about her experiences over the past twenty-five years. From day one of fighting for a diagnosis for her daughter to now celebrating 25 years of patient advocacy work, Trudie speaks about the importance of not ignoring symptoms and understanding the importance of knowing heart rate and rhythm.

Are you interested in establishing a local Support Group?
|
Support groups provide an invaluable service to patients. Meetings represent a forum for patients, their caregivers, friends and families to gain information, emotional support, share common experiences and learn more about their conditions. The most successful groups are ran through a partnership between patients/caregivers and medical professional.
If you are interested in starting a Patient Support Group in your area, please email Sharonica at
